IHL rulebook as of July 10th, 2016 Ice Hockey League: https://www.roblox.com/My/Groups.aspx?gid=2881733 ______________________________________________________ --Game Information -Time Games will last 3 15 minute long periods, with 5-10 minute long intermissions between each period. -Overtime An overtime period of 15 minutes will occur if the game is tied after 3 periods. If a goal is scored in overtime, then the game is over. In regular season games, there will be one overtime period before shootouts. In playoff games, there will be no shootouts. Instead, multiple overtimes periods will occur with regular intermissions between them. -Shootouts If the game is still tied after an overtime period in regular season games, then a shootout will occur. In shootouts, teams will have 3 chances to score. The away team will shoot first. If it is impossible for a team to come back (example down 2-0 in the shootout after the 2nd round) then the game will end. If it is still tied after the 3 rounds, then there will be a sudden death shootout, in which the first team to score in a round without the other team scoring wins. During a shootout, players may only hit the puck once, meaning they cannot score off of rebounds. If the puck is hit and does not go in, there is no goal. If the puck misses the net and crosses the goal line, there is no goal. Before a player shoots, the puck must be at center ice, the player must be at center ice, and the goaltender must be in the net. If all 3 of these requirements are met, then the player has 5 seconds to first touch the puck. The player has 20 seconds to shoot. If the player runs out of time, there is no goal. Goaltenders may not leave the net until the game is over or they have to shoot due to lack of players. -Season In the regular season, teams will play 9 games in 3 weeks. Tiebreaker games will occur if there is a tie in the standings after the last game. A coin toss will determine where the tiebreaker game will take place. Tiebreaker games will not count to the teams overall record, but will affect the teams ranking. -Playoffs Playoffs will have the top 2 teams in each conference. There will be 2 rounds. Each series will be best of 7. Games 1 & 2 are at the higher seeded teams arena, 3 & 4 at the lower seeded teams, 5 at the higher seeded teams, 6 at the lower seeded teams, and game 7 at the higher seeded teams home ice. ______________________________________________________ --Rules & Guidelines -Offsides Offsides is when a player has crossed the blue line into his offensive zone before the puck has crossed the blue line into the offensive zone. Referees may make a judgement call if a player is very close to touching the puck before it crosses the goal line. -Goaltender Interference Goaltenders will have a full range of motion within the goal crease (blue area near goal). If a player blocks the goaltender and a goal is scored because the goaltender could not get to the puck due to being blocked by the player, then there will be no goal. -Ejections If a player or coach is penalized with a match penalty, then he/she will be ejected (kicked from game).
