I've been thinking about it, I feel as though Roblox has potential, but has a long way to go regardless. Right now, the market on roblox is extremely untapped, with a majority of popular Roblox games being on par with shovelware you would find on the app store, and that hurts the credibility and reputation of Roblox as a whole as a platform. People perceive the platform as an unregulated shovelware nexus, and that tends to drive serious developers away. At the same time, the flexibility and power of the engine itself is not comparable to that of other platforms, but the tradeoff is that Roblox is a lot easier to learn. I say all of this, but games like Apocalypse Rising exist, and Phantom Forces. Games that stretch the engine and prove that high quality content can be produced that can create meaningful, engaging and fun experiences. The way I see it, one of two things will happen to the Roblox Platform: 1) high quality content games will be released at a slower rate than other shovel ware games, leading to a majority of successful developers being highly competent, skilled young adults, rather than children. 2) low quality content games will ruin the reputation of Roblox, and other time the platform will become more and more less attractive as the academia of Game Design being introduced in colleges and schools increasing year by year, leading to up and coming game designers being more introduced in more modular platforms that are more flexible, although harder to learn. What do you guys think?

I'm friends with a serious developer from denmark who is friends with many many many other serious developers. I'm also friends with one from finland although he's inactive for the time being. Btw, can you build?

Low quality games do exist, for example the flash tycoon game, EXTREMELY low-quality, and clickbait. But there are many games that I will not mention that are being developed by serious developers.

Absolutely. I think the first option is what can be pushed for and that we're headed in the general direction. While the engine may not currently be the best engine out there, that is something improvable and I think there's a solid basis. As ROBLOX grows and gets more popular, I hope that the engine can be improved. I think a good analogy is the amount of time the universe has been around to the amount of time we have had recorded history, compared to the amount of time ROBLOX has been around and how much time people cared about game & code quality. As a scripter, you should know all code written before 2014 sucks, and it improves every year. We've gotten through the myths about FilteringEnabled compatibility and now it's becoming more and more of a standard. We have meshes and universes and HttpService and a multitude of other features that are vastly underused and underestimated. Part of it is our job as the users of this platform to make better, higher quality projects. I believe in 2017 the front page will be full of 100% high quality content and no clickbait or low quality games. I think all bad tycoons will be replaced by games like Treehouse Tycoon or Retail Tycoon or Lumber Tycoon 2. Part of the job is of ROBLOX. I'm hopeful, and cautiously optimistic.
