Is the one with Sir Neville Marriner the best one, I saw it on 1001 Classical Recordings You Must Hear Before You Die on the 1001 Before You Die site and comparing Dies Irae from my memory to Merriner's, it sounds so alike. So, is Merriner's the best rendition or is there anything better? I've been wanting to own Requiem on CD, since it just seems an epic and awesome composition and I love Dies Irae. Truly, something I want to hear when the Rapture comes.

Oh, well. I guess I'm too intelligent for MOST typical forumers.

ok but seriously just find one you like "best" is subjective, just listen to a bunch and decide i'm sure all of them are fine anyways

OK, thanks Pale. This is so much better asking people on the Roblox Forums, instead of going on Reddit. I've got negative points and people making me feel really dumb. Now I know, the truth, if I want to own a classical composition on CD, I just keep looking until I find the best one for me and not make a big deal of it. I crave knowledge, I got what I wanted.

you said "dies irae compared to the thing in ur memory head " or something not sure what you meant by that but Dies Irae is a form of music from like 999bc and its the same melody in every dies irae so if you heard verdi's dies irae, for example, it would sound similar to mozart's or the one in symphony fantastique, they all have the same melody because thye all follow the same dies irae melody

I mean the Dies Irae rendition's I heard on YouTube and TV (which I clearly remember), sound very alike to the Merriner conducted version, it was definitely Mozart as his version is most popular.

The Gardiner rendition is by far the best.
