need scripting help

I'm trying to make a script that changes the visibility of certain parts based on a car's motion. For example, when the car is moving forward, part A becomes visible, and parts B and C become invisible. When stopped, A and C are invisible and B is visible... I tried asking for help over at Scripters, but all I can say is that I've seen more help over in OT

First you'd somehow have to have the script determine what direction the car is moving. After you're able to determine that it's just a bunch of if statements saying to turn the parts invisible/visible.
