scriptable

I am actually kind of surprised that people still use "scriptable" as a response to threads nowadays. I thought that died out but guess I was wrong. |

either people say it and join the bandwagon or they just say it because they think it's easy because of their precious scripting skills
just like this "it would cause lag" thing

Guys, let's face it, none of these suggestions will be implemented. |
|
|
These aren't really suggestions that will be "implemented" more of something the community already should be doing. The community needs to change the way they go about posting. It's therefore up to them to "implement" this into their own threads. |

"It defines why S&I is terrible and no longer productive like it used to be.
Believe me, S&I used to get things done, but now it's filled with people who leave the same generic replies (see all the "minimod" replies above) to a post without first reading that post. They just assume whoever left a reply read the main post and then say the same thing they did.
Look around and you'll see many examples of this."
No, the people calling you a minimod legitimately think that you are trying to be a minimod. When you make extensive posts like this, and then tell them this is how we should post, it makes you look like you're trying to boss us around, and look as commanding as a moderator.

I'm not trying to boss anyone around. It's up to you whether you make your threads better or not, and this shows you what should be done. I could have made this thread a lot more demanding and aggressive. If anything, this is probably one of the most passive threads I've made.
Second: as commanding as a moderator? Maybe it's because the word commanding has a negative connotation attributed to it, but Moderators are not commanding in that sense of the word. Sure, they do deserve respect and should be listened to because they are moderators but when was the last time they were "commanding."
Yes, I do want this thread to make people think twice about what they post.
Yes, people could improve if their posts improve.
Yes, S&I does need more people to post like as described and less people to post like a majority of these replies.
Attacking me as a person doesn't help anything.

how do you make a grown man cry? Decline his trade offer |

@cavedog
I wasn't attacking you, I was just telling you why people say you're a minimod. |

apparently everything we say against you is an attack |

Yes. Yes! YES! Thank you for posting this. People do not realize that one of the biggest reasons for Roblox staff members not actively showing they are on this sub-forum is because they are constantly faced with crap-posts, rants, petitions, spam, etc. A long while ago, you used to see the staff members roving S&I, searching for the next big idea and posting.
This isn't mini-modding. Cavedog is simply pointing out how the community itself is slowly killing S&I. All of you that are posting stuff, such as "mini-modding", "mods don't listen anyways", "i don't even care", and such are just further proving the point on why the community needs reformed. If you "don't care" about improving the site, then simply leave S&I and go find something to care about. If you decided to post on it, you must care to some degree.
First off, there is proof that the staff members read the forums. Quite a few updates, actually, have came from the forums. There are the small things, such as hats, that have been suggested and made. There are also larger things, such as dynamic lighting.
Second off, he isn't mini-modding. Cavedog isn't exactly trying to push the rules onto people and isn't taking the role of the moderators. He is simply giving out a guide on how things SHOULD be in S&I. He is promoting a more civil, productive way of foruming that would help Roblox better find new ideas to make better updates.
If users began to make threads with actual points and not just crap-posts that are destructive, there is a good chance that the staff will begin to show their faces more. This isn't rocket science, it is Roblox. |

After a long hiatus I'm finally back to posting here. Apologies for anything I missed before and thanks for that post Mister_Freakout. Appreciate it! |

i changed my mind about this post. Didn't mean to post saying mini-mod, I take that back. This is a great thread that will help bring logic back to S&I.
