So I've decided to move away from CS;GO for a bit and try something different. I'd like to get Overwatch but people are telling me that TF2 is better. Which one is worth my time and better gameplay wise?

Depends
You like custom servers and gamemodes and years worth of different updates to the point where you are swimming in items and loadout possibilities? Have an old computer? Want it for free and want to ACTUALLY play for free and only need to pay for cosmetics? TF2.
Don't mind spending some £££? Want a load of different playstyles in characters? Want a modern, well made, polished game that has a much better competitive system? Want great animation and pleasing graphics with some fantastic story and personalities to go along with it? Overwatch. |

Overwatch is a fun game, but it's a free to play game that costs money. It doesn't do anything innovative at all, and has very little content. Looking at games like TF2 or Dirty Bomb, nothing Overwatch does warrants the price tag
Basically it's a fun game, but definitely not worth $60, or $40, or even $20 i'd say |

not counting how tf2 is free and overwatch is $60, i'd say overwatch

Overwatch is only $40. You dont need the extended version that gives you perks in all other blizzard games. I prefer Overwatch. Superior quality.

"Don't listen to his opinion, listen to mine"... Hmm. Makes sense.
Anyways, this is Not Opinion: The game SEVERELY lacks content, yet is being sold for a Whopping 60 USD. 22 classes and 9 maps or something, whereas TF2 has unlimited maps (anyone can make maps) and around 200+ unique weapons. Trust me, OW is obsolete as long as TF2 exists. Perhaps if it was Cheaper.

Overwatch is ok enough I guess, just try not to get distracted by nerds who attempt to say "gg ez" and cry about Tracer's behind.

allow me to chip in, as a long time competitive tf2 player, it is almost CERTAINLY doomed to die soon. valve have lost all interest in developing the game, it's very poorly optimised, balanced issues are riddled left right and center, and the recently released competitive mode is a joke.
i've since moved onto overwatch and it is exactly what tf2 needs to be, the characters are all unique, the game is so polished, it's well optimised and it's very well balanced. everyone has a counter.
so if you ask me, overwatch is now the far better option. tf2 had it's run. |

Shooting in OW is like shooting a Moving Wall or a Plastic Dummy. No Impact at all, horribly unsatisfying. Flavor of the Month game. You could class it as "TF2 with girls".

Just bought it today to play it with some friends
I like it so far, but i don't think i've played enough to really make an opinion yet

And THIS part is your opinion.
I would strongly recommend Overwatch. Lots of people have already mentioned good reasons why, so I won't elaborate, but you should read GameInformer's review on it. That's pretty accurate.

It's a Fact, actually. The people don't visually React to being Shot, there aren't even "ding" sounds when you hit someone. Even CS:GO has impact thanks to that Tagging thing. Whereas in OW they move the same.

@tnt91
There are dinging noises. Lots of them. They may not visually react, but the sender and receiver both hear the impact. Even the receiver of the bullets sees their screen get all contorted and red.

>Valve is talking to the community more than ever now thanks to TF2
>The TF2 devs are listening to players and have been improving the MYM update since launch
>The new dev team has shown a genuine interest in making the game better
>TF2 is still one of the most played games on Steam
>Meme arrows

There aren't any Ding Noises, just weapon firing sounds. The visual Reaction is nonexistent as well as I said

@HipToShuccTrees
regardless of whether the tf2 team are now STARTING to make an effort, it's too late. word is already spread that tf2's competitive mode is completely lackluster, lacks and intuitive ranking system, is riddled with hackers and the game fluctuates from 120-30fps 5 times per second |
