I disagree I think discord overall is a much more satisfying application to both look at and use. I think the UI is a big factor for me because TS3 is, let's be honest, outdated to say the least. I think the only things I think teamspeak has over discord is the old/loyal user base and the fact that you run your own services. Lot of people on here started off using ts3 and are used to it, and naturally people don't really take well to change. having full control of your stuff is neat too. Discord and Ts3 have the same opus voice codec, but Ts3's has a 7.71 KB/s maximum bitrate whereas Discord has 8KB/s by default and you can increase it, so sound quality isn't really an argument I'd think. Unlimited slots, a more fleshed-out PMing system, image integration for text channels, and it's all free with a free mobile app. Ts3 in the past has had no real competition and thus is pretty stale. The Discord team however is obviously new and that means they start at a newer standard and regularly release updates to better the user experience. In my eyes there's no reason to pick ts3 over discord but people have different tastes I guess. Unless Ts3 starts updating to match Discord (which is good since competition means advancement if you don't want to stale out) then I really do think Discord is the winner.

I'm not sure how TS3 is at all better than discord, but... I mean, you do you. Speaking of Discord... Noble Blade has discord. Now that you know that~... You should join Noble Blade.

sigh if people use UIs as an argument then they don't understand the proper use of the programs and thus shouldn't be arguing their point at all since it's automatically invalid ts3 has a much higher voice quality and that's the only important part of voice channels also @ kid that said something about remembering id's, smh don't argue against something you don't even know how to use -___-

I'm not sure about the server distance issue you're having, but I don't really get a lot of bugs and I'm in a hella lot of servers (on a mac too) hosted in england, netherlands, germany, and brazil (for some weird reason). I don't get many issues at all. but if ts3 works better for you then it's lit i guess

" Ts3's Opus voice codec does not go past 7.71 KB/s. Discord's Opus voice codec defaults at 8 KB/s and can go higher. I have mine set to 64 KB/s I said this in my other post but you probably just skimmed it since you're addressing this point. That's straight though I do that too tbh.

A higher bitrate means higher quality audio. a 320kb mp3 will not sound anywhere near as good as a 90kb mp3. it's about compression, and a higher bitrate means less of it.

a 90kb mp3 will not sound anywhere near as good as a 320 kb mp3******* (my b lol switched them) more about compression, an uncompressed FLAC or wav file will sound way better than a high bitrate mp3 file because... it isn't compressed there's no compromise on audio quality. The file size is also massive btw. because streaming flac quality audio from multiple sources is not reasonable, the compromise is compressed bitrates. A high bitrate will kill weak connections, and a low bitrate will let those people connect but won't sound as good. You gotta find what's good for you, and currently, Discord lets users have a wider spectrum of bitrates to choose from to best fit their needs.
