Well you see guys OCFA is and has been dying since its creation. Not in the sense of nobody is joining the league but simply in the quality of the league. Heres why: 1) Nobody needs help anymore OCFA was created as a collegiate league to the OFL for players and coaches to learn the game and get better. Naturally once that crowd learns and gets better they leave OCFA and go to OFL which means (hopefully) players are constantly leaving the league. When less people need help than people who are leaving then the league gets smaller. 2) OFL Shaming Now this might seem like a silly egotistical reason, but its still legitimate. When you have most OFL'ers saying OCFA is a bunch of trash leagues is simply inferior to OFL, that naturally creates a want to leave OCFA for OFL and makes OCFA less attractive. 3) OFDL With the advent of the new OFL D-League, the OCFA is simply losing its place. What is the main focus of OCFA anymore? Training players? Well that would be the OFDL's job. Winning Triumph Bowls? That would be the OFL's job, so OCFA doesn't really have a place. 4) ARFC & Mailard Ok once upon a time, ARFC and Mailard especially were invested in OCFA a lot more than they are now. They were much more concerned on running this league smoothly. ARFC is less active in general now, and Mailard has OFL things to deal with. 5) "New" league appeal One of the huge draws to any league is that its new. That sense of being one of the people who can say they were one of the first few in the league and helped start it. This is OCFA's 7th season. That's clearly dropped off now. 6) OFL Expansion The OFL has been expanding 4 teams at a time recently. Wow. That's a lot of space for some people who are in OCFA and want to get on an OFL team. Naturally, with more space in the big leagues people from the small league are going to want their piece. 7) Loss of Social Vibrancy This is partly because of 2) but many of the social voices that made OCFA fun simply aren't here anymore. They've moved on or "retired." The appeal to be in OCFA is loss when it isn't as much fun and has less of a reward. 8) No Dropdown Rule While this rule just makes sense for the concept of the league, it just simply leads to less members. At the start pretty much everyone had to be a drop-down in OCFA because most of them migrated from OFL. Drop downs make a huge chunk of OCFA and cutting them out just leads to a less active league. 9) Bad Head Coaches Probably almost a dozen head coaches have quit since the start of S7 so far. When theres no more good head coaches circulating, the draw to the league is simply less because it shows how little people care. 10) No "Officialness" This league is sloppy, I mean really sloppy. The rules are broken regularly, theres little structure, the ban/suspended list is out of date. The description is out of date, theres no stats to gauge awards, theres no ref system to appeal to refs, and many of the things that make OFL run smoothly are done in the complete opposite manner in OCFA. Mentions Outdated/Laggy Stadiums Unclear Rules Sillykid99 fix this you won't no balls pls
