"Some people may celebrate Christmas as a secular holiday, but it is still very much associated with Christianity. I honestly don't see any problem with referring to December festivities as "the holidays."
[ George Orwell taught me math! 2 + 2 = 5 ]"
It seems like discrimination then. There are plenty of religous holidays throughout the year that are very prominent ... like easter, ramadan, ect. And they are not called 'the holidays'. And plus, just because you don't celebrate it doesn't mean you should change the name. Plenty of people don't celebrate halloween. They don't get offended by the name and make up another one like 'Fall's Harvest' or something, lol
it's just a backwards argument that'll get you nowhere. |
