Here are two ideas I have for the forums
1) The ability to delete your forum posts
Imagine you have made a new forum post but then you realise it's on the wrong sub-forum. How embarrassing! That is why you should be able to delete your forum posts.
2) The ability to edit forum posts
Imagine you made a forum post but you said something wrong or spelt something wrong. Another embarrassing moment! So you should be able to change the forum posts.

Oh shoot, I really messed up, I attacked the admins and I'm gonna get banned, oh wait I can just delete the post and I'll be fine.

you may not be aware of this but it's not uncommon for moderators to be able to see deleted posts |

There should definitely be some sort of 1-5 minute cool-down when deleting or editing forum posts.

ok and what if someone uses the API to delete a reply, and now people have the power to delete any thread and make them inaccessible
