On June 6th 1944 The United States,Britain, and Canada Launched an offensive attack on German occupied France.The attack was known as D-day.The battle cost a total of 19,000 dead on both sides.The 82nd U.S airborne division landed near Ste Mere-Eglisis. The 101st landed near Carentan , Both were villages in France.We are focusing the battle for Carentan and the 1st Army Ranger landing on Omaha beach.The Werchmant or the German Army defended the coast.And 2 German paratrooper Battalions.It was a fair match...But over all the 101st Paratroopers were successful.
