POWER RANKINGS EDITION 1: 1. USA East: Despite the loss to Canada East in their second exhibition game, this team still looks like the best all around team in the tournament, with star gks alk and lock between the pipes for them, ebenton and big j on defense, vez and nomer at fwd, and solid depth from drbat and clutchk, this team has it all. The only real problem with this team is finishing plays which was highlighted in the 3-1 loss to Canada East as their players had the opportunities to make the game 4-3,5-3 or even 6-3, but they had trouble finishing passes. If this team can get a bit more chemistry, they can easily win the world cup. 2. Canada East: The only team to go 2-0 in exhibition, this team is an offensive force. In the first game the team held up solid and got a 5-3 win over Canada West, led by Somber with the hat trick, but the team's defense looked shaky. However in their second game, a 3-1 win over early favorites USA East, the team was not only led by the 2 goal performance from somber, but also by a solid 1 goal performance with solid defence to show for it. Not only that, but Turbo put upa great performance in net, shutting down many chances from vez and co. One can only imagine the boost this team's offense will get once gh0st shows up. 3. Global: Like Canada East, this team also has a strong offense, led by f0xface5. There's not really that much to say about this team, but once more of their players show up, these guys could be a real threat. All we can do now is watch these guys start the group stage on wednesday to see if this team can continue the momentum they got through their 4-1 win over USA West. 4. Canada West: After losing 5-3 to Canada East on day 1, this team rebounded strong with a 10-0 win over North America. This team has a skilled offense with grabner, ericbassi and zatterbee on their team along with hymers on defense. However, this team is rather weak in the net, but old RNHLer Fr33zing picked up a shutout over North America, however he wasnt really tested that much, like Global, we have to wait until this team plays another strong team to really pinpoint how well this team is going to play. 5. USA West: Going 0-2 in exhibition, this team's failiure has been a bit of a surprise considering that they have frostysvug and tgross playing fwd and evilsniper in net. However, if there is any silver lining to losing both exhibition games, it's that these guys took USA East to OT before losing 1-0. This team also only scored 1 goal so far, surprisingly coming from silentninja31 (although it was an OG). This team is going to have to bring out their offensive potential if they hope to make it out of the group stage. 6. North America: Although they did win 4-3 in OT in game 1 (with a sub), this team got crunched 10-0 by Canada West today. All I can say is, this team is going to show some drive to win and pick up their game if they hope to make it out of the group stage. Next Power Rankings to be released on saturday!
