Scripting is VERY easy.I can do a lot,I script and design.So I do know how frustrating it can be when you don't know how to do something. Really,just watch a scripting basics video.If you want to learn,do something about it, don't just complain on the forums. And just so you know,I'm 11 and I can do it.It's just typing what you want to happen, but you write it in code form so computers can understand it.Age doesn't reflect academic level,and it doesn't affect abilities like coding. |

I learned how to script by sitting down and learning how.I bought books on it and I practiced with Scratch.If you aren't willing to take the step you need to take,you can't learn to script so easily. |

No support. I understand that this is useless because OP cannot understand why this is a bad idea, but I will explain.
First of all, there is no need for this. If you don't have the time to learn to script you won't have the time to make a game with "Blocky Scripts".
Secondly, this will only hinder people who use this from ever becoming good scripters, as they will become used to "Blocky Scripting", and they will be utterly confused by normal scripting. This will cause them to decide to stick to blocky scripting, preventing them from ever advancing on to make actually good games.
Thirdly, making this a feature on ROBLOX would require ROBLOX developers to devote a large portion of their time to making this, which would prevent any actually useful updates from happening for a good stretch of time.

This is a good idea but it simply isn't for ROBLOX.
ROBLOX is a game developing website with the intentions of teaching people LUA, be it a child, teenager or adult. Simply giving people the ability to do block building wouldn't teach them anything - and if they learnt LUA to use it later on in life, then when it comes to actually having a job there performance would be terrible because they'd only know how to blockbuild and not write.
Good idea buddy, not saying its bad, but its just not for roblox.

I knew this was pointless, but I will leave with a few points.
Firstly, it does not take eight years to learn to code. I have only been on ROBLOX for a year and I have a pretty firm grasp on ROBLOX coding.
Secondly, if people (I will here insert all caps to hopefully grab your attention) do not have the TIME and EFFORT to learn to script, they will most certainly NOT have the TIME and EFFORT needed to make a game.
Thirdly, I do not have anything wrong with ROBLOX developers working. I merely have a problem with them working on a useless feature when they could be spending their valuable time working on features that MAKE ROBLOX BETTER. The scripting aspect of ROBLOX is not meant for the people who do not have time to learn to code.
Though this is pointless and you will just reply with a long post about how this is for people who "do not have the TIME and EFFORT" to learn to code and about how I should read your other posts, I hope to impress upon others that there are flaws to this idea.
P.S. I read the entire thread before I first posted. Don't assume that people who actually understand your idea must like it, because that is simply not true. |

First off, let me say that your formatting gave me a huge headache. Now, time for business:
1) Unreal Engine uses a thing called Blueprint Visual Scripting. However, you can still make professional games with it. If what you want here is added to Roblox, Studio would turn into a six-year old's playground.
2) Lua would be removed. The admins have had a history of removing the older but still used feature. Take Legacy Physics. Some games needed that, and then the admins decided to ruin all those games because 'PGS is the future!'
3) The only way to learn is the hard way. Man, if only I could tell that to the school board. I managed to avoid it, but schools keep implementing these fake coding lessons into the curriculum, and this is because the board wants to add coding classes but they look at languages like C++ and they're like, 'Okay. This is too hard. Let's give them a watered down version of this stuff!' There are easier languages out there! Lua is one of the easiest languages created and serves as an even better introduction the wide world of programming.
4) Block coding sets kids up for failure. They'll finish thinking, 'I'm a professional coder now!' And then they'll want to learn more. But when they start a real language, their world is rocked. They see this world where you have to type it all out! If you skipped the blocks and went straight to something like Python, you end up in a better state than if you didn't skip it.

i played galactic strife and i thumbs uped and faved it but look
with Easy Script you could have seriously just made a game like that fast and easily with it...I dont know why you hate this idea?It could seriously help others...think about them

Galactic Strife was made quite a while ago. I could not have made such a thing easily with "Easy Scripts", it would have been just as hard or harder. Though Galactic Strife is in dire need of a complete overhaul and recode, it would eventually have required things I could not do in "Easy Scripts." Even if there were "Easy Scripts" I would not have used them. (A long time ago, I took a look at Scratch. I felt even more limited by it than the coding environment I came to ROBLOX from.) |

Also, thank you for the thumbs up and fav! I must stress that in not supporting this idea, I am attempting to keep other's best interests in mind. I do not want to see hundreds of DAD "scripters" suddenly have to learn that their scripting ability is worthless in the real world. |

Why should roblox do this and make it so easy for you, when we actually took the time to learn the skill?Just dedicate a little time to it and you'll know how to do it eventually.Oh,you don't have the time?Then do basic stuff.You do have to realize that making scripting so easy for you make it hard for roblox to develop a system like this.See,if the code is so simple,the client would need to be very precise and quick with identifying that line,which will be complicated for roblox to add. |

Quite honestly, you should. If you don't nobody will take you seriously and take you for a 10 year old.
Now quit being lazy, and if you want to learn, put some time into it. Block-coding is so stupid and useless. Try learning an easy language like batch or html to get a feel for coding, then move up. Batch is a bit different, but It's still coding.

A drag and drop idea would be good. Unreal Engine 4 has it and I think Unity too. Roblox should step up its game and put it in to allow access for easier coding. That also means better games. |
