I know that this is going to be controversial, but please listen to my points before you reply.
1. I recently got into posting in smaller forums like VCR and in the past 2 hours I've seen 2 peoe spamming one with 2 STFs who was clearly post boosting, and one bacon hair who keeps making threads. I had to go back to ATR and make 3 threads before the post booster's thread was deleted. Not only that, but afterwards when I checked her account she had traded her limits away for smalls, so she might've been a scammer trying to gain posts and therefore reputation and then scam people on LMaD.
2. People use them as proof that they are superior, and admittedly I have done this before in the past, but it means vice versa, that you wasted time posting on a kid's game's built in forums.
3. They don't nessicarilly have to be removed altogether. Honestly, I would be fine with it if posts were removed from the forum posts themselves, and that they stayed on profiles, that way you big time forumers could keep them somewhere.
Conclusion: Combined, I have about 3,100 postsx and I like the feature, but the fact of the matter is that they're pointless, you don't get a reward for them, except reputation and they are so easy to manipulate that using them as rep is pointless.

They don't need to be removed, since they arent harming anyone. Roblox just needs to find a way to make people care about it less.

I consider and love my total posts' hard work over the 2 years on ATR. If it were to be removed, I would be unhappy. |

As I said, they don't have to be removed altogether, just removed from the side of the posts themselves. Also, I have a friend who was scammed out of 20k by someone who het trusted due to their posts, which were all in the ROBLOX Events subforum. It is harming people.

If I remember correctly (I may be wrong) but when Gordonrox24 was a moderator, I think he did say ROBLOX is open to removing posts counts completely (this was stated sometime when the KOs/WOs were removed), as post quality is what really matters.
Though it may seem unlikely that it will be removed due to the fact that every forum you visit keeps track of your count. While I may be a user who doesn't really care about posts counts (because I prefer post quality), MANY users on ROBLOX will not be happy about the removal.
It's just a feature that's tricky to get by, even though it rewards absolutely nothing (since its reward of "Top Poster #" broke years ago) people seem to have a sentimental feeling for it. It's hard to explain for me, but I don't ever see ROBLOX removing the feature.
PS: It's quite unfortunate what happened to your friend, but for him/her to trust someone based on post counts is just so unheard of. Common sense should tell you that many or half of a user's posts could be illegitimate. Your friend should have read the ToS (Terms of Service), because that argument of yours is not enough to justify you idea of removing the post count. Even if you remove it completely or just from the forums itself. |
