I don't really understand. It seems like you're talking from two different perspectives. Please make it a bit more clear. No disrespect intended

Um, no you think sponsors even cover a good portion of roblox' income? they just help with simple expenses and are easy to produce, i'd assume none of the sponsors have ever spent more than 6 figures on a single deal before

############################################################################################################################################ "Why the creator of Roblox Thinks His Gaming Platform Will Top Minecraft" Published June 10, 2016. If the link is censored and you don't want to google search ill just take out the section from the interview "Baszucki: From very early on we have had remnant advertising, similar to banner ads. But over the last five years we’ve started immersive advertising partnerships with big brands that want to reach our audience. We’re running a deal with Disney for Finding Nemo sequel Finding Dory. Adams: How much is Disney paying for that deal and do your developers get a cut? Baszucki: Some of our advertising deals are six figures and beyond, and our developers get some of that money. About a quarter of our revenue comes from advertising."

Fun fact: When ROBLOX hashes a post, it removes all the spaces between sentences. (When you hit ENTER)

they did say "some of them", so we can assume the average rate is probably about late ten thousands to early hundred thousands that still isn't entirely substantial, they have to run server farms and sponsorships are inconsistent

I think its less that they're for profit and more that its money out of their own pocket if they wanna get 90% of the game.

90% tax only applies to non paying members

#202984653Tuesday, November 29, 2016 3:32 AM GMT

too bad for them, not everyone can pay for robux, the same as not everyone can pay for crystals in clash of clans- but nobody is complaining there

#202985345Tuesday, November 29, 2016 3:39 AM GMT

@hello You don't know the average rate. And ads are around 1/4 of their income. That translates to 25% more profit compared to if they had no advertising.

Can I get a source on that as well? Either way, Roblox needs to maximize their profits. Right now I think they're in a good position. They're doing the best they can to supply to the community and profit at the same time.

@hello the source for what i said was in that Forbes interview "Either way, Roblox needs to maximize their profits." Yes they do, but why do you care? That's their problem. "Right now I think they're in a good position." Of course they are, they started profiting last year...and then removed tix. "They're doing the best they can to supply to the community and profit at the same time." They aren't doing their best. They're doing a little, but the effort isn't there.

can you provide a source stating that roblox started losing profit after tix were removed
bromachine2000
#204482089Friday, December 16, 2016 3:37 AM GMT

A lot of people left for good when tix were removed. So roblox actually lost profit.

I was almost one of those people.
helloburp
#204482716Friday, December 16, 2016 3:47 AM GMT

Those people who would leave roblox when tix was removed weren't generating Roblox any money anyways, so that wouldn't lose Roblox profit in the slightest

Because Sponsors ruin stuff. Roblox events Hats Games many more. "The circumstances of ones birth are irrelevant. It is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are." -Mewtwo
