I'm not talking about removing them from your account, i'm talking about just not letting others see them, but you can see them or make them visible again.

@Glacei Absolutely not. If someone has a friend, and that friend gets a name change, it should be mandatory that the person receives a message about it. What if you were clearing friends, and you unfriended the closest person on your friends list unintentionally because the name didn't match the previous AND no visible list of past names? Of course, the person removing the friend would not know who it is, and then wonder why on earth they can't find their best friend anymore.

I guess it might work? What about the people who knew you from a long time ago, searched you up, and then couldn't find you because your username couldn't be found? I'm half and half on this topic. The Hippie of S&I.

@Dunclub Still should be optional, or maybe when you hover over previous names it will say "This user has recently hidden some past usernames." for a while. I'd still like it so you can toggle if the name is hidden on and off whenever you like, to prove that you are that person. @powdercat It's not like you HAVE to hide your past username, but some people have embarrassing past names they might like to hide. If someone wants to hide a name, people probably wouldn't know them by that name anyways.
