Yes, I know. I recently bumped the first version of this. But I am making a second version of this post, since I bumped my first version so much, that people couldn't even see whether my idea was getting support or not. Also, I made a couple mistakes with the first version, so this will be a more correct version of it.
Most of us on ROBLOX are aware of the strict chat filter that is on ROBLOX's games. Most of us have typed something that wasn't inappropriate in any way, shape, or form, and had it censored anyway. Since ROBLOX hasn't seemed to take the time to revise their chat filter, I have a simpler idea to suggest to them.
On the forums, we know of the preview button. You know, the button that allows you to see if you said anything inappropriate in your post BEFORE you post it. As you can guess, I would love it if we also had that button in our ROBLOX places and games. It could be a button that you click next to the chat list, or you could set any key on your keyboard as a hotkey to quickly access it.
Considering the broken state of the chat filter, this is SERIOUSLY NEEDED in order for anyone to socialize in game. How is anyone going to understand that you're trying to say "Hi, there," when the game does this to you?

Funny thing is that I've noticed the filter has gotten a least better over time. You're complaining for no reason. Give them time to sort it out.
Besides, there's some crazy cool updates they're working on that are more important than this. |

This isn't so much a complaint as a quick suggestion for ROBLOX to consider while they fix their filter. I may have gone a little crazy at the end of the post, but you can still see that all I want is for ROBLOX to make something to help us with the chat filter until they fix it, since I am aware that figuring out what words to censor isn't simple, and that it takes a long time.

It's more a matter of knowing what to censor when it's next to something else. I'm aware the filter is still silly, but it's getting better over time. |

I wish it was that easy, but there's one issue.
This wouldn't be for kids AND adults at the same time, if they didn't have a chat filter for the safety of the kids (But honestly, it's there, so that crazy parents don't just sue ROBLOX over some words someone said to their kid in a ROBLOX game.). All I want is something that will temporarily help us with the broken state of the chat filter in-game, since I am aware that it takes a long time to revise and change a censoring system. |
