metal is better out of all 4 (in my opinion) this is the order for me 1. Metal 2. Grunge 3. Alternative 4. Punk but I like them all just in that order

Many alternative rock groups from the nineties, mostly from Seattle, the most well known were probably Nirvana, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, and Stone Temple Pilots. Hm, I honestly like all four, but I'd put Metal first, then Grunge, then Alternative, and lastly Punk.

1. Metal 2. Alternative 3. Punk [The good stuff, though. Like 'The Clash', and 'Anti Flag' 4. Grunge I do love all of those genres, though, so even though Grunge would be last, it isn't significantly lower in rank from the others. I just like the others a little more.
