I've been working on my homework for the last 3 hours and am looking at another 2 hours of working on it. This is ridiculous. It is literally like school wants you to have no social life. There are so many things wrong with the school system that won't get fixed until the baby boomers and early Generation X are out of the government.
Homework, standardized testing, and non preparing students for the real world. Three of the reasons America isn't in the top 25 for education.
There is a reason that the average teenager gets way less then the minimum amount of sleep needed and more people suffer mental disorders in America.

i agree, especially time wasting things like projects why not just write down important information instead of stick papers on another big paper and then coloring it around so time wasteful for extra work that isn't even needed. |

I do have an issue with some tests that are "timed". A test should further your knowledge, not how many answers you can get right in an hour.
It's just how it is for some and I'm ok with it. |

In my experience the amount of homework a teacher gives out directly reflects on how little time they actually spend teaching like they're supposed to. School worksheets are meant to be done and reviewed during class time. |

Math is the one single subject that actually should have some amount of homework but it should absolutely not exceed 60 minutes per day. |

in my school math/physics are usually the classes with least assigned homework

I've had math homework about three times the whole year. I have a lot of French homework, a lot of English homework, a bit of AP Euro homework, a bit of Physics homework, and sometimes rarely programming homework. |

I forgot physics or any other subject that involves an amount of math/math-like problems.

I have to outline 100 pages, do 40 IB syllabus statements, type a history paper, read 50 pages in english, and finish a pyschology study guide, AND plan a party for english.

yeah, and then millennials take it over and homework becomes nonexistent because they hated homework, and education becomes one of the worst in the world and america becomes a 3rd world country because people dont know how to function in life

foreign language is also an appropriate outlet for homework because in order to truly learn the language you need immersion (which is impossible without an exchange program) so homework (especially vocabulary studying every day) is the closest substitute
