The Congress of the United States of America December 5, 2016 An Act to recognize the sovereignty of Madagascar. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SEC. 1. Short title. (a) This Act may be referred to as the "Madagascar Acknowledgement of Sovereignty Act of 2016." (b) No Act of Congress enacted after the passage of this Act shall supersede any provision of this Act unless it does so in specific terms, referring to this Act, and declaring that the new law supersedes each specific conflicting provision of this Act. (i) This Act shall be severable, such that if one provision is superseded, repealed, or struck down by the courts, the remaining provisions shall stand; judicial review shall extend to a specific provision or provisions, should it or they be unconstitutional, and not to the Act as a whole unless the entirety of the Act is unconstitutional. (c) Any piece of legislation in conflict with any provision of this Act is repealed. (d) No individual previously granted rights, freedoms, or benefits under this Act shall have those rights, freedoms, or benefits revoked by the nullification of part of all of this Act. SEC. 2. Sovereignty. The United States of America recognizes the sovereignty of the Republic of Madagascar (https://www.roblox.com/Groups/Group.aspx?gid=2827944). SEC. 3. Recognition of Geographic Boundaries. The United States recognizes the sovereign territory of the aforementioned Republic of Madagascar as the entirety of the Island of Madagascar off the eastern coast of southern Africa, easst of Mozambique. SEC. 4. Permission to Hold Office. United States citizens holding any office of profit or trust under the United States may accept of any present, emolument, office, or title from the Republic of Madagascar without penalty.
