• Introduction • The primary purpose of the AST rank is to learn how to be an effective MR in Dunkin' Donuts. They shadow trainers at training sessions and learn how to train a group, as well as take notice of proper MR and HR behavior. The below text consists of just a few points involving ASTs during training sessions. • Roles • [1] ASTs are not trainers. They shadow trainers and help move the training along as well as learn how to train a group. [2] ASTs should do roughly half of the orders when shadowing a trainer. The trainer should provide them opportunities to give them a chance to apply what they are learning at the training. [3] If the shadow of a trainer is making mistakes, it is up to the trainer to correct them and explain the proper way to do things. If they complete the order without error, they should be praised for that at the end of the training. [4] ASTs don’t introduce themselves at trainings. If their trainer allows them, they can do rules or trivia. [5] When ASTs aren’t doing an order, they are standing back and observing their trainer. This also includes when you are lining up in the beginning. The trainers, co-host, and host stand on the front line and the shadows stand behind the person they are shadowing.
