obviously this is completely opinion based
but ts3>discord for a few reasons:
1. TS3s have a lot of functions that discord doesnt have, and it's also a lot better looking with the User Interface (UI) design. Unlike TS3, Discord is fairly annoying/confusing, as well as unappealing. Although that is preference, I think you can all agree the UI is obstrusive
2. TS3 gives a bigger incentive to talk. For example, Discord offers text chat and voice chat, which gives little to no incentive to actually use the voice channels outside of events. However, TS3 forces you to join channels and chat. Poking is also a lot easier, you can be on multiple things at once, and it's just overall easier to use.
I've thoroughly used both and this is just my opinion.

I was definitely on your side but just recently have I swtiched to discord because yes there is a learning curve but after you get that it's much more useful than ts3

1. discord may be more convenient to some, but from experience, 75% of those who join never go online.
2. easier to contact someone when online for TS3 (pokes/chats/talking)

Discord is a lot more simple and user-friendly for "noobs", and it sparks a community.
There is no refuting that.

I actually find that discord is more appealing looks-wise than TS3 - you can edit the visuals in settings. I changed mine to a black background & compact, it takes a while to get used to but I think the overall UI design is better tbh.
TS3 probably does give a better incentive to talk but that's because the voice system > chat system whereas in discord both are equally good. |

i have notifications and private chat so the poking is the same as the sound for it
and there's actually a lot of commands u can do in discord you havent looked enough

I actually think discord is a lot better because there is a web-version as well as a download-version with both very similar features.
You don't even need to make an account and you can still get perms/VC, although if you make an account you have more features. |

TS3 isn't something enjoyable to be on for too long, the functions on discord are much more interesting, because of bots. Which are also much easier to use on discord. |

or lets just say ive had some bad meat with some people way back and some idiot decided to secretly invite them to our ts3 server
