Introduction Welcome to the Continental Army! In this guide you will need to read and study the formations and commands along with understanding the rules of the Army in order to become an adequate soldier and ready for combat. Upon entrance to the army you have fully agreed to these form of codes and are to expect punishment if broken. **Note: These commands are inspired by real military codes.** Table of Contents I. Marching Commands [I.] Army Behavior **Rules** -A soldier is to always wear his or her proper uniform when on duty. -A soldier is to let a nearby officer know when he or she is going “AFK” or leaving the game. -A soldier is to refer to his superiors as “Sir” or “Ma’am” -A soldier is to never team kill or random kill “TK or RK” -A soldier is to use proper grammar at all times on duty. -A soldier is to use Permission to Speak “PTS” when needing to ask or notify a superior of something. -A soldier is to Respond to a superior by saying “Sir, yes sir!” or "Understood Sir!" -A soldier is never to talk back to a superior. -A soldier is never to use “emoji’s”, “faces”, or "Abbreviations". -A soldier is to follow an order the first time it is given, no excuses! **Punishments** [First Code Broken]- Verbal Warning. [Second Code Broken] - Verbal Warning, Report sent to a High Ranking Commander. [Third Code Broken] - Dismissal From Game and Demotion. **Any act of treachery, AA, or Exploits will result in an in-game suspension, investigation, and demotion to Enlistment.** [II.] Basic Commands **Musket Commands** [Shoulder Arms]-Placing musket on shoulder. (F) [Make Ready]- Used to ready your musket before a firing. (Left Click) [Present]-Pointing your musket forward to aim. (Zoom in entirely and Right Click) [Crouch]-Crouching down; used in certain firing drills. (C) [Advance Arms]-Used for guarding an individual. (G) [Order Arms]-Holding musket close to the ground. Used for guarding entrances. (H) [Trail Arms]-Used to march quickly. (K) [Ground Arms]-Remove the musket tool [Fire]- Fires your musket. (Left Click while Presented and Zoomed in) **Melee Commands** [Toggle Melee]-Allows you to block or stab using your musket. (X) [Charge Bayonet]- Thrusts your bayonet forward. (Must be toggled in melee) (Left Click) [Block]-Allows you to block Bayonet Charges with your musket. (Must be toggled in melee) (Right Click) **Parade Musket Commands** [Support Arms]-Placing musket on shoulder. Used during marching or formal occasions. (T) **Sabre Commands** [Sheath Blade]-Take out your sabre. [Holster Blade]- Put away your sabre. **Officer Sabre Commands** -”Present”: E -”Make Ready”: M -”Charge”: C -”On Me”: N -”Fire”: F -”Advance”: Z -”Fall Back”: H **Firing Commands** [Volley Fire]-Firing all at once. [Command]- "Prepare Volley Fire!" [Fire by File]-Firing one after the other (in turns) starting from the officer’s side. [Command]-"Prepare Fire By File!" [Commence Fire/Fire at Will]-Fire on your own accord. Do not stop until a “Cease Fire” is ordered. [Command]-"Commence Firing/Fire at will!" [Cease Fire]-Stop firing. [Command]-"Cease Fire!" [Commence Fire by File]-Firing one after the other (in turns) starting from the officer’s side. Once the soldier farthest from the officer fires, the cycle repeats starting with the soldier closets to the officer firing. This cycle ends when a “Cease Fire” is ordered. [Command]-"Commence Fire by File!" [Fire Rounds]-Soldiers are told to fire a certain amount of times then to cease automatically when they reach the required amount of shots. [Command]-"Fire (Number) Rounds!" [Fire and Retreat]-Soldiers behind cover are to come out of cover, volley fire then retreat back into cover and reload. They repeat this until the Officer orders them to cease. [Command]-"Fire and Retreat!" **Parade Firing Commands** [Salute Volley]- Soldiers are to Volley Fire into the air as a sign of Saluting a person or patriotic symbol. [Command]- "Perform Salute Volley!" [III.] Formations **Battle Formations** [Rank]- Lining up shoulder to shoulder (Make sure to keep arm-space when holding a musket). [Command]: "Form Rank! (STS)" [File]- Column, front to back (Make sure you have 1 stud spacing between the person in front of you). [Command]: "File on me!" [Line of Battle]- Forming multiple ranks, one behind the other. [Command]: “Line of Battle!” [Stagger]- A zigzag that is started from the officer’s side. The person near the officer moves back, skip a person, move back, skip a person, move back, etc. [Command]: “Form Stagger!” [Wedge]- Forming a triangular shaped formation that is filled with units within the triangle. Used to break enemy lines or moving in an armored stance. [Command]: “Form Wedge!” [Square]- Forming a square based on how the officer counts. 1’s move on right side, 2’s stay still, 3’s move on the left side, 4’s move on the opposite closing the square. Used to defend from any cavalry attacks. [Command]: “Form Square!” [Circle]- Forming a circle around the officer. Leave no spaces between each soldier. Mainly used to guard the officer from any ambushes or whenever surrounded by the enemy. [Command]: “Form Circle!” [Support Fire]- While in rank, the soldier closest to the officer is to about face, skip a person, about face, skip a person, about face and so on. Once that is done, some soldiers should be facing forward while others fa####a#####sed against flanks. [Command]-"Support Fire!" **Parade Formations** [Double Files]- Two Columns, front to back (Make Sure to keep arm-space when holding musket). [Command]: "Double Files on me!" [Arrowhead]- Forming a “V” like formation (by moving forward from the line). No units within the formation. Used as a guarding stance. Command: “Form Arrowhead!” [Inverted-Arrowhead]- Forming a “V” like formation (except facing inward rather than outward like a normal Arrowhead formation). No units within the formation. Used as a guarding stance. Command: “Form Inverted Arrowhead!” [IV.] Marching Commands **Faces** [Left Face]-90 degree turn to your left. [Right Face]-90 degree turn to your right. [About Face]-180 degree turn. [Left Oblique]-45 degrees to your left. [Right Oblique]-45 degrees to your right. [Center Face]-In a rank, face the Officer. [Forward Face]-In a file, face the front where the officer is standing. **Line Commands** [Form on me]- Form a file behind the officer. [Hold this position]-Form on the Officer’s right. [Attention]-Ground arms and stay silent. Pay attention for further orders. **Marching Commands** [Forward March]-Begin marching behind the officer. [Prepare Halt]-Be ready to halt. [Halt]-Stop marching. Make sure to keep a 1 stud spacing between the person in front. [Diverge]-A file of men marching breaks into two files on the signal given by the lead Officer of the file. All the soldiers behind the Second in command of the file are to break off with the second in command and follow him off to the side of the original file.
