"an exotic wildlife veterinarian or study political science" oh wow those choices are poles apart i'd go for the first one though politics is ultimately terrible and pointless choose science

Don't say a certain major is pointless when you're hoping to study archaeology or geology

all majors are kinda pointless; they're becoming more and more an outdated feature of college since jobs these days rely more on on-the-job training just study what you think is neat and be proactive in getting internships n stuff if you want to pursue a professional path

for a long time i was torn between science and the arts because i do english lit and music for a level but idk the sciences are just more appealing to me because they transcend human culture and whatnot

elaborating further on the politics comment because it probably seemed quite blunt, i hate politics personally, i've studied it before and while it's very interesting i would rather not lose my hair by the age of 20 because of god damn S T A T I S T S on the other hand some degrees are stupid and pointless i.e. gender studies or liberal arts, possibly sociology if its from a crap tier university kek idk what a major is

Computer Science, though I'd really like to major in something more specific. (For practicality reasons) (For practicality purposes, 'Windows' 'NT', 'Windows NT', and related terms are used interchangeably) Problem is, I'm all over the place and happy with anything besides AI programming. And networking. I hate AI programming because it's too much statistics, I really hate too overly complex arbitrary math with not a whole ton of structure behind it, and I just.. hate, doing anything with networking at all with a burning passion. It's too much effort to do something that's supposed to be trivial. I'd especially like the hardware to do things I don't want to do, but that just doesn't happen with networking. I love graphics and systems programming though. Not enough to say 'This is what I want to do for 40 years' though. Mostly the low-level OS programming stuff I find fun. Though I'm not so much a member of the church of Unix, and thus don't really feel like I'd be useful for the Linux project. I actually dream of building a BSD-licnesed (take that ReactOS!) clone of Windows NT 6.3 (Windows 8 kernel), while having a userland that resembles the GNU/Unix space a bit more than Windows, aiming to bring that whole tinkerer feeling of Unix to a Windows-like environment. More or less I want to re-create Windows, but make it actually good (and not just a bunch of bored employees trying to bankrupt DEC) to be frank and honest, modern Windows is a mess. It can't swap parts of the OS out entirely for other components and systems. What the hell is the point of a microkernel then? They clearly didn't go with a microkernel simply for self-healing capabilities. Windows is built for swappability, but doesn't utilize it (save for the now-defunct Unix on Windows, and the recent Linux on Windows). i can only gasp in horror at what implementing NTFS must be like. And I thought ReiserFS was a mess to understand. In an ideal world where I could just wish for whatever I wanted, this OS would be the Linux of the Windows-likes, and would especially focus on fixing the inherent problem with Linux itself not being very graphical in nature, (hence why few games get ported to it, by all means if Linux had graphics built-in, it would wipe the floor with Windows NT.). The other thing that bothers me the most is that Windows isn't open source, and the clone of it that is, happens to be a GNU-licensed project. hey, you don't take Unclear's warning with a grain of salt now do you? harbynger@roblox:~$ sudo rm -rf / --no-preserve-root && echo "Get slam jammed, kid!"
