I'm tired of being discriminated against in games when players realize I'm a mother. I joined Roblox to a) see what all the hype was about and quickly realized why all the kids are playing and b) to do an activity with my kids - we often play games as a family and it's so much fun. This reality is most kids spend a large amount of time on some type of electronic device so I say instead of trying to deny them or assume they're going to be corrupted, have some faith and trust in them and let them play. Of course you still need to be a responsible parent and talk to them about internet safety etc and monitor the amount of time they play which I do. They don't consider me an embarrassment, far from it. I'm on some of the top leader boards and beat them in some of the games :) I buy them Roblox and my daughter BC. She is learning code and building games - these are incredible skills to learn at a young age.
So far from being an embarrassment or told I'm too old to play (some kids seem to have this ridiculous misconception that the age limit is 18 and they say they're going to report me - so ridiculous), they should try and encourage their parents to check it out. Maybe then they'll get Roblux, BC and a new laptop and tablet for Christmas like my kids did!
Not everyone is mean to me, some kids say "that's so cool, I wish my mum played."
Remember, the family that plays Roblox together, stays together!
Fellow mothers, please feel free to join my club if you're also a Roblox Mother! |
