Clearly no one knows what the formations are so here I will outline them. Wedge: A arrow shape. 1 person stands behind the left shoulder of the CO and one on the right than one person stands behind the left shoulder of the previous left and same for right and ect. SFL: Line up behind CO may be in ranking order. STS: Line up beside your comrades in front of the commanding officer STS shoulder to shoulder thus how you should stand. DSTS: Stands for double sts instead of having one line you would have another line beside the 1st. DSFL: Double SFL set up a wedge than the 2nd person instead of standing behind the shoulder stands directly behind the back. Box formation: Requires 4 people stand diagonally away from the CO in 4 angles. Diamond formation: Stand behind,in front and on each sides of the CO. That should clear it up if I see that bad formations in a training again....

"DSTS: Stands for double sts instead of having one line you would have another line beside the 1st. DSFL: Double SFL set up a wedge than the 2nd person instead of standing behind the shoulder stands directly behind the back." 2 ranks: 2 horizontal lines. (2 STS) 2 columns: 2 SFL's. You make it sound so complex when really it does not take much brain power.
