That doesn't dispute anything about the idea of egoism though. The interesting thing is that you list it as being a leftist idea but if anything it's right winged to be more concerned about your self interest than that of society's. It's present everywhere, whether you realize it or not. It's why communism will never work.

too much of either side is bad, certain right ideals work better in certain areas and certain left ideals work better in certain areas. i'd say i lean left but in no way support full on communism/socialism.
