Here's a complete guide, rank-based, on what weapons a Sandshark can and cannot use.
LRs:
Low-ranks can use standard single-shot or burst fire civilian weaponry. This includes the standard Sandshark weapons, such as the Stoeger and the Patriot, as well as cheap easy-to-aquire weapons, such as an M4 carbine or bolt-action hunting rifle. If you want to go automatic, use an AK-47, but be aware that it would be in horrible condition and would jam frequently. You'd be better off with another weapon. As for sidearms, you have some freedom in choosing one. Just don't use any military-grade pistols that are used by any other large lore factions, such as a Quiman or a Mendel. I'd recommend going with an HK, or a revolver.
MRs:
Medium-ranks are granted access to some slightly more advanced weapons. Yes, you can use automatic weapons. This doesn't mean you get to carry an M134 minigun. Stay within the realm of realism, as you won't be able to get access to any high-tech military-grade equipment. An M4A1 or MP5 would serve you well. You can also use some higher-grade shotguns, such as a SPAS-12 or a Benelli M4.
HRs:
High-ranks get access to some military-grade weaponry. You get some freedom when it comes to your guns. Just stay within the realm of realism. No LERC-8s or ASR-50s. If you'd like to use a weapon from another faction, such as a Norte or Levi, ask a C-rank first, although it'll probably be alright as long as you have a reasonable lore for it. As for pistols, your choice. Just don't go running in with a Desert Eagle.
Melee Weapons:
For melee weapons, any rank can use whatever they want within reason. For instance, the bat, tomahawk, axe, and knife are all fair game. However, if you are using a cutlass, longsword, katana, or broadsword, be prepared to explain how your character got ahold of it.
