The issue with this is that it'd decrease the popularity of ROBLOX due to people no longer being able to interact with each other as easily. A lot of people would simply go to a different game altogether. This would also render the following features null or would make them much harder to be properly used: Friends (Nearly pointless if chat is removed), Chat & Party (No text text chat would remove the chat part and probably nearly kill the party part), Groups (Basically would only be used for notifications about -insert thing here-), Forum (No text chat), Comments (No text chat), Trading (No more bartering, plus a lot of time would be wasted sending trades you wouldn't have needed to if you had just asked and how would anyone know what the value of an item is :P), and any games where text chat is required (Examples: Role playing games,) and would leave ROBLOX as a dull experience (keep in mind that a lot of features center around chat). The removal of such features would leave players who make heavy use of them outraged and leave players needing help understanding something ever confused. Overall, removal of text chat would completely ruin many aspects of ROBLOX.
Now, one more thing before I finish.

I agree with you here. Scams and inappropriate content (I'M LOOKING AT YOU, MEEPCITY PARTIES, CLUBS, ETC) are a major issue on ROBLOX and NEED to be addressed in some way, however removal of the text chat combined with the various changes made recently would leave many ROBLOXians displeased and unable to clearly voice their opinion. All I am saying is that there certainly must be a better way of fixing this than going so far as to remove what is practically expected of modern games and killing off the "community" sense that ROBLOX strives for.

ROBLOX is starting to reach out to older audiences, this isn't just a kid's game anymore. And while it is true that they do not tolerate harsh language that doesn't make this just kid-friendly. Also, it'll be more difficult for players to communicate properly as they might want to talk about strategizing in a competitive game or talking about their interests in a hangout game. It just wouldn't work. No support.

Menu chat used to be a thing back in 2012, as did safe chat [ meaning you could ONLY speak from menu chat] but it got removed, I'd love to see this! Support

Boi, Roblox isn't a kids game anymore, it's been moving to appeal to older people, like teens & young adults, a aready. messed up chat will make Roblox even WORSE

also, since it would be tremendously hard to navigate and find the chat option you want, you could add a search option to filter out the ones that you don't need
