Hello everyone. I write this not to impose a sense of gloom or despair, but to try to seriously and honestly provide a slap in the face to a large amount of people who make up this community and want to see it continue into the future. While I'll spare you the "the end is nigh" picket signs, the fact is that EUSA is in a sticky situation. For those who are unaware, about a week ago a public discussion had occurred about the issues in this group, it's future, and how we need to change to continue. Unfortunately, as I and others expected, this conversation was merely people pointing out problems and others agreeing with them. I hate to break it to you all - you need to actually do some work, you need to actually put some effort into changing the atmosphere of our community and regrowing a more rounded community - one which isn't just filled with politicians. I understand more than you may realise that it's so incredibly simple and easy to just sit down and agree and chat while not doing anything, but this isn't going to solve anything, and we as a community need to realise that. It seems every other day I hear little groups of 2 or 3 people with grand plans to go off and make a new group, and "reinvent" was EUSA "used to be". The fact is, if this group splits into 20 smaller ones, they'll each shrivel up and die, and that's not exactly going to help us, now will it? I also want to point out the fact that people who have issues with the group admin, such as myself and JamesClements, need to find some guts to speak up and point out when we're in the wrong, and when we're doing childish things. The fact is that I'm not perfect, and neither is Clements, which brings me to the last, brutal fact of the matter. I write this candidly, and completely in my own opinion. I disagree with a lot of the things JamesClements does, and how he enforces his opinions on others. I disagree with the fact that he is as stubborn as a rock, and how he likes to brush problems under the rug instead of actually dealing with them. With that all being said though, he has always been a close and trusted friend of mine, and I would still say that he is to this day. The problem comes from the fact that I know there are several people who would agree with some, if not all, of what I have just said - however they are either too lazy or too afraid to actually say something. If you pretend that people are acting perfectly fine and expect them to just change on their own, then you need to give your head a serious shake. So what am I suggesting, exactly? Well - politicians, stop obsessing over titles and statistics, stop worrying about your legacy or trying to be Frank Underwood on ROBLOX. It won't make you liked, nor help the group. For others, welcome people regardless of how you may see their "intelligence" or "skill level". This group holds a lot of prejudice to newcomers, those who are not "up to the standard" of what these "established EUSA names" have deemed acceptable. Another key thing is that people need to stop trying to be politically correct, crowd-pleasing robots. What I mean by this is that people who work in the FBI or CIA, for example, might not be liked because they ask tough questions and look into serious matters - this is perfectly fine. We need to stop forcing everyone to be nice friendly smiling, outstanding members of society because it scares away new, passionate people, and can end up making others leave with a sour taste in their mouth. Look, the point is - we need to change. I wish you all the best, and will do my best to help. Best Regards, James M. Reed
