the whole game is about suppression and an alternative viewpoint to mainstream philosophy and ideals. It's a world in which everything has two inevitable outcomes: Big Brother (Stalin, the one Austrian guy, etc. etc.), or Big Sister (Anita Sarkeesian, SJWs, political correctness, etc.). (This is mostly explicit as the main antagonist has the nickname 'Big Sister'.) It's about the importance of individuality and how conforming to the current norms is the worst thing you can do. If you can do it yourself, you better damn well do it yourself.
For the sake of not being labelled anything it doesn't need to be, there are no human characters, just anthropomorphic characters so when Anita calls this 'more devil work' as always, I'll just say "It's just a story about animals". (Animal Farm anyone?)
(I'll use 'society' and 'culture' interchangeably)
Major stuff include:
- Humans are the real monsters (nice things cannot happen, the animal characters represent a different aspect of humanity -- the homeworld has *all* the species because it still has the flaws the whole thing has, even with it's good things. Civil war is an inevitability in this universe, and both sides are wrong. The reason why true aliens look down on them is because of what they do and they can't set things straight.)
- Society is inherently evil, the only one you can depend on is yourself, and close friends maybe. Everything's gone wrong and there's probably no way to fix it that can be suggested with certainty.
- political correctness simply existing is bad
- corruption and the failure of political systems resulting in well, today's culture. (more concerned with eternal power than doing the right thing)
- racism and sexism is ubiquitous in the modern world -- just not in the place you're looking at, but in plain sight (BLM is racist, feminism is se######## - Society cares more about revenge than reason.
- Deep down, can you even trust yourself? (a minor antagonist in this is a 'future' version of the protagonist, more accurately you are a past version of this antagonist, but I digress, this antagonist exists to show the other side -- too far from Big Sister gives you Big Brother. You have to bring balance to the Force!)
- Silly Rabbit, Idealism is for kids!
pretty much a total 'I'm sorry but you're wrong' to like every theme in Mass Effect, specifically the ones about 'getting everyone together will solve all your problems', hell no, they make it worse because now you have divisions and a chain link fence -- it's only as strong as the weakest link. You have Garrus and if you can put up with her, Ashley too, if not, maybe James. Ugh. Maybe Wrex and Javik too. Everybody else, get the hell off my ship.

It's using it's own game engine I've been working on for the last 2 years, just finished writing a Vulkan backend for rendering, will probably get a release for Ubuntu and Debian sometime, with a Windows port a year later maybe. Might even get a Mac and get a license from Apple and do a Mac OS port.
