DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE
OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL
My Heartfelt Resignation
OAG-008
I'm pretty sure I'm the longest-serving Attorney General in history. With 2 commissions, I've served as Attorney General for almost all of 2016, and even before that, I was doing most of the administrative work for former Attorney General smallchomama1234. To be honest, I'm both excited and frightened to be leaving this office with which I've grown so comfortable, but I guess it's time to move on.
Some of you may be wondering why I won't just hang in there for the last 48 hours or so, and honestly, I just want some closure; going through the transition just seemed to awkward to me. My Deputy Attorney General, Gshock2369, can run DOJ for the measly 48 hours left.
Some great things and some less-than-great things have happened while I was Attorney General and DOJ Chief of Staff. First, I established both the Department of Justice Board of Directors and the DOJ Awards, and I even laid the framework for a more democratic system of running the Department of Justice through department-wide elections to choose representatives to the DOJ Board of Directors. When fully implemented, it will be unprecedented.
However, if you've kept up-to-date with the DOJ, you already know all of that, so I'll stop bragging. Even my critics must agree that I was dedicated to my job, and I always had the best intentions for my department. I plan on advising TheySinned's nominee for Attorney General, and they have my full support. I hope that they'll continue my legacy, and I'm definitely not giving up on the Department or on NUSA. I plan on running for Class III Senate Elections, and if the next Attorney General wants, I'll even offer to serve as a non-attorney Assistant Attorney General.
I'm not going to bother with goodbyes since I'm not going anywhere, but I do want to thank a few people for getting me to this position. First and foremost, I want to thank retired Chief Justice smallchomama1234 for always having faith in me and for mentoring me to replace him as Attorney General; without him, I definitely would not be here today, and for that I am eternally grateful. I also want to thank former President Zeyad567 for his dedication to the Department of Justice while he was president, and obviously I want to thank President SuddenRush12G for seeing my potential as a member of his Cabinet. You are the ones who had faith in me, who saw my talents, and who took a risk appointing and mentoring me. I'm so grateful, and I hope I made you proud as Attorney General.
Effective thirty minutes after I publish the 2nd Department of Justice Awards winners, I voluntarily resign my position as Attorney General of the United States. Also, if any of you care, my honorific will be reverting back to Senator, being that (go figure) I'm a former Senator.
Dutifully signed this 19th day of January, 2017,
The Hon. Madame BonnieSBennett,
Attorney General of the United States |
