@Heydude Why do you think the government taking money from the rich and spending it on pointless degrees will benefit the economy? Especially when we are 20 trillion dollars in debt and cannot afford to keep spending

"ebola vaccines were useless for a long time so no one made them LOL EXACTLY NO1 WILL PROGRESS IN THAT FIELD CUZ IT MAKES 0 DOLARES !!!!! OMFG WE MADE A BREAKTHROUGH!! :DDDDD" no but my statement is countering your argument that anything that has no demand is useless; obviously things like ebola vaccines or cures for rare diseases wouldn't exist if this were the case "I just don't understand why if I make say 250000 the government gets 30% of my money but if I make 250001 they get say 35%. Just because I make more money doesn't mean the government gets to take more of it in my opinion." i mean it's true there are obvious disparities with the tiered tax system but the gross benefits outweigh these disparities and furthermore every plan isn't perfect and you can't expect that

"WAY TO AVOID MY POINTS!!! <3" nice job ignoring half of what i typed in my initial response "Heydude, u know what those workers did bcuz of the companies? they unioned, why? BECAUSE THEY COULD" read some history on unions. labor day exists because it was such a ridiculously intensive ordeal "thats how capitalism works omfg...u like understand it but purposely are being ignorant NOONE forces ANYONE to WORK for ANYONE it is a CHOICE" i mean that's not really true at all; workers on visas are forced to work and realistically terrible working conditions can be inflicted on those workers and if those workers speak out they lose their job and get deported (and that's just one example because like i said no system is perfect, including capitalism) "governments ADJUST so that PRODUCTION can CONTINUE but when GOVERNMENT interferes its HOLLOWS OUT the ECONOMY" empirical evidence [2]

I read your post and you never mentioned where you are getting the money to pay for these free degrees. Plus, if people really wanted to succeed and make it to college in "poor conditions" they would. My grandparents didn't know a slew of English, anything about Americans educations, SATs or anything. In the end my Dad busted his butt off and graduated fourth in his class, went to college, had a six figure job before he was even out, started multiple companies, and now currently has a high job at Chase. If people really wanted to succeed they put their minds to it.

"heydude before ebola existed it wasnt a problem so it is useless?" it was a problem before the outbreak that globalized the disease, but it just wasn't big enough of a problem to justify to the companies looking for profit margins to save those lives affected by the disease with a vaccine that literally took two years to create

If you raise minim wage up, they will just fix the prices to be exactly what they used to be. So a Big Mac at McDonald's cost lets say 4 dollars, and the wage we have now is 7.25, now if you change it to something like 15 dollars, that Big Mac will now just be changed simply to 10 dollars - 11 dollars to match the wage hike. So changing minim wage is pointless.

@Hate Plus there will be even more unemployment. If I have 20 people all working minimum wage and all of a sudden all of their salaries double. I guarantee 7-8 ### #### off.

pwner that's your opinion but gender studies is just a subdivision of a field that would be underrepresented "workers arent forced to do anythingx2 only ppl who want to force anyone to do anything is u" >"workers are forced to do stuff, for example this" >"wrong" "I read your post and you never mentioned where you are getting the money to pay for these free degrees. If people really wanted to succeed they put their minds to it." i agree that certain people have tendencies to succeed but you can't just look at one single example. while i do find that admirable that's simply not what the overall picture points to money for free degrees would be created by budgeting and increased taxes "If you raise minim wage up, they will just fix the prices to be exactly what they used to be. " i mean i agree that's a legitimate argument but it's not like you can't increase minimum wage to meet current inflation (otherwise you're just screwing people over) "@Hate Plus there will be even more unemployment. If I have 20 people all working minimum wage and all of a sudden all of their salaries double. I guarantee 7-8 ### #### off." i mean i agree with that but again that's an gross overstatement of what's going to happen and what i'm saying; doubling one's salary via minimum wage growth is unrealistic @frost your trolling is bad it's too obvious i just like debating noobs even :P

"money for free degrees would be created by budgeting and increased taxes 'budgeting' cuz the government is good at that right XDDDDDDD" i mean that's not really a fair argument; for the purposes of debate we're forced to consider that these things will happen only because we're solely debating the outcomes of these hypotheticals

Soooo if people don't have the frame of mind to succeed in Middle and High School the government should swoop in and give them free college because all of a sudden now that they're going to college they're gonna start caring.
