【ACCEPTANCE REQUIREMENTS】
• Be a citizen of the State of Norlands
• Be in no other Norlands departments
• Speak fluent English
• Maturity, proper grammar and spelling
• Have POST Certification
• Be willing to go through a rigorous and difficult training program
• Be willing to serve in a department expecting excellent performance

【EMPLOYMENT PROCESS】
You will first have to complete an application process which will test your comprehension of the material required for a member within the department of homeland security, and to prove why you are a worthy candidate for your desired position. If your application is accepted, you will be placed in a entry-level DHS agency: Federal Protective Service (FPS), Crisis Response Team (CRT), or Secret Service (SS).
If you pass the application stage, you will then have to attend and complete the Homeland Security Academy (HSA). More information below. (see section training & sessions)

【IMPORTANT VOCABULARY】
Lockdown - An emergency protocol to prevent people or information from escaping, which usually can only be ordered by someone in command. Lockdowns are also used to protect people inside a facility, for example, a government official, from a dangerous external event.
Domestic Terrorism - A high level of crime against a state, taking place within the state. One of the main goals of FDHS is to combat domestic terrorism.
State of Emergency - Issued by the Governor in times of emergency, the State of Emergency puts all emergency services on high alert and is issued when there is a major threat to citizens.
National Terrorism Advisory System (NTAS) - As the name suggests, an alert/advisory system. Three levels, “Low,” “Elevated” or “Imminent.” Low meaning no major threats, normal risk of attack. Elevated meaning heightened risk of attack. Imminent meaning attack imminent, or about to happen.

【SESSIONS & TRAINING】
The Homeland Security Academy (HSA) provides rigorous and extensive training to provide members of NDHS what they need to prove their abilities within the department. Session 1 will incorporate members from all agencies. Sessions 2 and 3 are separated by the agency an individual is in.
• Session 1 - Introduction, NDHS Rules & Guidelines, how to handle a capitol breach, capitol lockdowns, how to search the capitol, basic protocols
• Session 2 -
CRT - Proper radio etiquette, vehicle protocols, weapon practice & performance evaluation, physical training
FPS/SS - Proper radio etiquette, procedure on letting people into capitol, vehicle escorts & foot escorts, physical training
• Session 3 -
CRT - Advanced hostage situations, detaining tactics, how to sort out priority of calls, how to handle a large scale attack. Advanced combat tactics, response tactics. Performance evaluation, testing, final discussion.
SS - Advanced government official protection tactics & stances, emphasis on methods on ensuring a GO’s safety, codewords/codenames. Performance evaluation, testing, final discussion.
FPS - Performance evaluation, testing, final discussion.
• On the job training -
Enlistees from all NDHS agencies have a set period after completing the Homeland Security Academy to take part in on the job training. During this time, enlistees can take part in the county, working with agency supervisors and some regular agents to learn about how their duties will play out and get tips to perform efficiently.

【EXPECTATIONS】
There are high expectations the Department of Homeland Security Administration puts on its agents to ensure the highest quality outcome of each member of the Department of Homeland Security. Some expectations put on its members include, but are not limited to:
• Showing the utmost respect to superiors and peers
• Representing the department in a positive and acceptable manner
• Being very active as a DHS member by doing frequent shifts
• Attending trainings frequently to ensure proper knowledge of DHS procedures
• Keeping an exceptional level of maturity and pride for the department you work in
Any member of the Norlands Department of Homeland Security can be removed for any reason as necessary, especially if they break one of the major 5 expectations set on them.
