I'm sick of this, Roblox.
In 2013, I was FINE with the current chat filter
It only censored swears.
And instead of hashtags it was [Content Deleted].
I was fine with that.
Just, perfectly okay with that.
I had literally nothing to complain about.
Then, in 2015/2016 or so, Roblox rolled out the hashtag chat filter.
Atleast it only censored users under 13.
But then, in 2016, Roblox decided to censor every user.
Every. Single. Flipping. Roblox user.
And in 2017 Roblox decided:
"Hmm, we've censored swears and offensive slang for all users.."
"WHY NOT GO FULL NORTH KOREA"
"AND CENSOR"
"NORMAL WORDS IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE"
Revert back to the [Content Deleted] filter or there's more likely than not going to be a massive boycot of the site.
Is this what you want, Roblox?
Less players?
Do you want more people to quit Roblox?
Because that's what you're acting like.

You made me laugh with that part, lol. It's pretty much true.
Honestly, what would be a great idea for the chat is if we could just toggle the filter. You know, like how MMOs allow you to toggle whether you can see players swearing and saying censored words, or not.
Of course, it would be automatically on, so that children who have just joined the game don't see swearing the first time they play this game. But if they (or other players) feel mature enough to handle seeing the stuff that is censored, then they could turn it off themselves, instead of attempting to use brain magics to try to discern what someone said. |

This is why I don't play games on here much. I bet you if I went into a game and just said a normal sentence, at least once someone would say "bloxxed, hashtags" |

This dumb as heck chat filter takes everything out of context, and it's so freaking annoying. I can't use basic communication, and sometimes I just don't even bother trying to chat anymore because it's so bad. Make it so that us older players don't have to deal with this bullcrap, and please put efforts towards making sure that even younger players don't have to loathe the faulty chat filter. |
