I. SOCOM Organization
SOCOM is the United States Military’s Special Operation Command, It is a Combatant Command. There are there are five Special Operation Commands (SOC’s). These Commands consist of: Army Special Operations Command (ASOC), Naval Special Warfare Command (NSWC), Marine Special Operations Command (MARSOC), Air force Special Operations Command (AFSOC), and Joint-Special Operations Command (JSOC).
Under these SOC’s, there are Special Operation Forces (SOFs).

*When SOFs/SOUs are deployed with JSOC they're considered a "Joint Task Force"
The SOCOM Chain of Command is as follows:

SOCOM Members
*The CJCS and VCJCS have administrative authority to advise SOCOM, and operational authority.
*The Service Chiefs(JCS) have authority to recommend/approve SOC COs of their respective service, but no operational command authority.
*The SOCOM CO has both administrative and command authority over SOCOM.
SOCOM Members should not come to the SOCOM Staff unless they have an urgent problem. First, talk to your SOU Staff. SOU Staff would then communicate the issue to the SOF Staff if need be then SOC Staff. If the problem cannot be resolved by the SOC Command, they would come to the SOCOM Staff
II. Standard Guidelines
- When you are in Uniform, you are On-Duty.
- When On-Duty, you should be on Teamspeak or Skype.
- When On-Duty, you must be mature at all times. If you act immature, consequences may follow.
- Immaturity while On-Duty will lead to a suspension if continuous.
You must be respectful to all of your superiors and those from other branches. (If an Officer is of higher rank, you should be calling him/her “Sir” or "Ma'am.
- While On-Duty, you must have decent grammar.
- Do not insubordinate ANY SOCOM Staff.
- DO NOT ask for promotions.
- All SOCOM members should keep their ego locked tight and remain professional at all times while on-duty as you are representing SOCOM.
- If you are suspended, you may not attend any SOCOM operations or events.
- If a member of SOCOM wants to switch SOC's, he/she must first talk to the SOCOM Staff, take that new branches BT, stay in that branch for two weeks and remain active, then they may tryout. Failure to do so will get you removed from SOCOM for 3+ weeks.
- If you earn a position that requires you to be an Officer, you must take OCS.
- You earn promotions in the main branches, not through SOCOM.
- If an Enlisted member in SOCOM receives a promotion, his/her SOU/SOU/SOF Staff must send a PM to the SOCOM SEA.
- If an Officer receives a position his/her superior must message the SOCOM CO, if paygrade is above that of the SOCOM CO's then message a service JCS/VJCS
- SOCOM is a family. Do not disrespect each other, protect each other.
III. SOCOM Dress Code
- Shades may be worn while on-duty, however not with formals or inside.
- Bandanas, masks, and beards etc. may only be worn on deployment.
- No beards, crazy hair or other accessories of that nature are allowed on formals, in compliance with USM shaving regulations.
- Only suitable hats may be worn when On-Duty (no crazy hats or hair)
- Uniforms may only be worn which have been approved by the SOCOM Staff(no customized, personal uniforms unless Formals)
- Combats are only to be worn on deployment or when instructed by a Staff Member
- Combat Shirts or training uniforms are to be worn during trainings
- Service/Work uniforms may be worn when visiting an installation. If you do not own these, combat uniforms may be allowed. But be sure to follow ALL installation guidelines they have set forth.
- Formals are to be worn for ceremonial purposes and things of that nature only.
IV. Recruitment
- When holding either RASP, Selections, BUD/s, or Screenings, staff members should shout on both the main branch and their own SOU.
- People should be given at least a 20 minute notice until the Selection is held. Shouts should go out at least 20 minutes early and include the start time.
- Officers, Senior Enlisted and Instructors should be the only ones holding Selections. SOF/SOC CO’s may allow a more specific group to host.
- E1's may not attend Selections.
- If staff members are "scouting“ on base, you must ask the Officer in charge if you may speak to a possible candidate for your SOU. ONLY STAFF may scout.
- Cross-branch recruitment is NOT allowed.
- If an E1 is spotted in your SOU, he will be removed. If a member in your SOU is not in the main branch, he will be removed.
- If someone is wanting to join an SOU, tell them to stay tuned to the USM and/or Branch shout.
V. Deployment
- When you are at a USM Warzone or at a Hostile Warzone, you are on deployment.
- SOCOM Units may only deploy to a USM Warzone if necessary or given the OK by the SOU Senior Enlisted and above.
- In a USM Warzone, only those in charge of the patrol may talk to Hostiles.
SOCOM follows the Rules of Engagement.
- If talking in-game while on deployment, SOCOM may use TeamSpeak, Skype and in-game communication(Radios)
- If a member of SOCOM is not in time for the briefing, he/she has to report to the operations host to be filled in.
VI. Punishment
The Punishment for misconduct and/or breaking any rules above are as follow:
1. You will be publicly or privately warned.
2. You will be removed from the training or Operation.
3. You will be suspended from your Unit (suspension rules in Section II) and possibly from the communication chats (Teamspeak, Skype etc.)
4. You will be removed from your Unit, SOCOM, and a possible demotion following a punishment hearing from SOCOM, Service Staff, JAG etc.
*ALL SOCOM members are required to retain any deemed CLASSIFIED/sensitive information, operations, orders etc. Failure to comply will result in immediate punishment. Refer to Section VI. |
