instead of having the Roblox staff decide what we can and cant see, we do it ourselves, get rid of the cursed chat filter and replace it with a custom filter of your own design, cant say no to that.

Pros Less filtered words Cons 7 year olds saying rude words.

Actually, I do say no to that. You do realize that people will probably just allow anything to be said right?

ROBLOX needs to make their own, if anything. They started using a third-party several months back, and since day one people who know about it hate it. I know I'm beating a dead horse by now, but seriously. Regardless, Google """World's smartest content filter""" and you'll see.

No, but people will. This game is aimed at people aged 8-18. Pretty sure ROBLOX would be getting lot's of angry E-mails from parents.

and what me and my friend are getting at here is, the chat filter you create only changes what you can see in chat, so to say "You do realize that people will probably just allow anything to be said right?" just neglects the point, your making the assumption that your chat filter will only censor your own chat messages (which would be a pointless function)

well they can stop complaining if the staff puts a pass code into the filter preferences so they can change what their kids see in chat and not worry about them tampering with it

I thought you meant a custom filter for your own game, but whatever. My point still stands Do you really think an 8 year old would censor any words?
Niftygob
#207900607Sunday, January 22, 2017 8:44 AM GMT

It still honestly defeats the purpose of having a filter. It's much better and less time consuming to have one filter for everyone.

well if said 8 year old doesn't censor any words then they obviously aren't offended by them, which once again is better than having someone else decide what your offended by for you.

also I'm not saying that Roblox's own chat filter should be removed, it should still be the default option, but they're should just be an option for custom filters if you can be bothered to make your own, there are literally no drawbacks.

i completely agree (I've been in a situation where i've been trying to explain the controls of a Roblox game using the chat, but singular letters got censored so i would have to say stuff like "press the letter at the start of the word question" and that's just one example i couldn't have thought of a better idea myself.

Support, but instead, any curse words or inapppropriate words are censored by default and can't be removed, because I didn't know typos were bad words The things I don't do in S&I

Support, but one problem: I don't like saying, typing out, or even SEEING/HEARING curse words, so how will it know? I imagine that one day, I'll look back at this post and think, "What was I thinking back then?"

I need a more thorough explanation, because the original post just seems pretty vague, in my opinion.

Roblox is slowly ruining their own website. I agree with this completely. They need to understand that there are people on here besides 8, or anything that has to do with younger kids. Us people that are older than them should be able to have custom chats, sure Roblox can censor "curse" words. But to censor the most random words? Right.

I support this, but they should make it so you have to be a certain age in order to use the custom chat, I understand this could be easily bypassed by lying about your age, but still, you can only then blame the children for lying about their age then. P.S You could also make it so that as well as needing a certain age for a custom chat, you also have to have your account verified, and even still when you have got access to the custom chat, you can't uncensor curse words etc.

You can't u hav to use roblox's filter or else they will put ur game under review and possibly shut it down

#210675197Sunday, February 26, 2017 2:12 AM GMT

you're missing the point Sharp, the point is you get to choose what words you get to see, without hacking the website, and it would be their filter, if they actually listen to what people are saying about it

you tupe in the words you dont want to see into the... words you dont want to see boxes and you wont see them, its better than having half your conversation tagged, that would
