well yeah and we're also one of the most industrialized nations in the world
i mean, what more can we do? People clearly don't want nuclear power EVERYWHERE, so pick one: global warming from coal/gas/etc, or clean and safe energy from nuclear power. There's no alternatives, 'renewable' is too inefficient. Why don't we use clean energy and stop gw instead of whining that coal/gas in polluting the atmosphere?

yeah and it's not that bad, just cram it into a mountain that's already pretty much a dead zone and sacrifice it for the power needs we have
Bonus points if we use a different element than uranium, which is often times actually more efficient and reduces pollution because it has a shorter half-life.
China has so much pollution and smog that if they were like their industrialized sections across the whole country, it would be hundreds of times worse than the US.

we can only reduce it so much without lowering the actual output, our energy needs are going up and people don't want to switch to nuclear power
Look, my father is a nuclear engineer and we live like 1 mile away from the place that made the stuff for the bombs dropped on Japan (and there's other stuff here too)
I don't glow in the dark and everything isn't super irradiated here, radiation levels here are like the same as they are on the east coast
the problem isn't 'we have super high energy needs' it's that we don't want to switch to nuclear power for some stupid reason

We can only reduce our energy consumption with the current methods of producing energy so much, it's stupid to do much more. We need more hydro and nuclear everywhere, and less coal/gas.

I don't agree with Trump saying 'The one china policy is negotiable', because Taiwan is China. (and Japan should, out of spite, give the Senkaku islands to Taiwan just to piss off the mainland, even though by all means the Senkaku islands belong to them)
actual China is much more useful for our companies -- they're just afraid to trade with us because the mainland is bullying them and we're OK with that. They produce goods we actually need and use, they have better manufacturing, etc. etc.
on top of the million reasons to be hostile to the mainland
