An option wherein it can be used anywhere. For instance, it can be used in in-game purchases then you can select a player or your friend in the server that you chose to give that item as a gift for him/her, and another one, you can also give a gamepass to someone by using the gift option. As for the catalog, it's almost the same as in-game purchases. You can buy something from a catalog and there must be a button where it says "Give as a gift" button and then you'll be able to give it to your friend. (There must be a restriction: you can only give the gift to a friend.) As for the items that you already have, for example, you already have a specific antlers and you want to give it to your friend... you can just give it a gift to him/her.
This can be done for all kinds of items.
It is abusable by hackers? Well, it is your fault for not taking the proper security steps and such.
