Okay, this is a much more serious post than the one I made before where I just said "Don't." Let's get to the point. We don't need censorship on our in-game chat, our posts, and/or our messages. Period. Trust me, there are MUCH worse things on the internet than a couple of 8 year olds swearing, and if some parents are going to get triggered over words they see in an online game, they aren't good parents, and need to consider for a second that words don't hurt much. Also, we already have a reporting system. We can already get users banned for speaking in an insulting manner. We don't need to censor some swearing kids when they are just going to get banned within a few hours (Or in some lucky cases, within a few minutes). Last but not least, you should have expected some people to swear here. It's the internet, where everyone feels like they can say whatever vile things that they want to say, and get away with it. Not only that, but you guys made this game for kids AND adults. You should have expected that most of those adults were going to swear, since it's normal for them to mix a few swear words with their current vocabulary. ROBLOX, just remove this censorship, man. Even during the best times of the filter, it had some fatal flaws with it.

chat filtering was a good idea when it was used to prevent swearing and make a chat more age friendly but this is just borderline an Infringement on our Right of Free Speech Chat Filtering is Becoming an Infringing on the Rights our Forefathers Fought and Died For don't let roblox disgrace them chat filtering is a completely logical idea but they have taken it too far...

@judess I understand that chat filtering is a good idea... In a way... But if 50% of your game is about talking to people online, then it's stupid to slap all those people across the face with a chat filter that doesn't even function, let alone to slap them with a chat filter in the first place. There shouldn't be limits on whether you can even see what someone said or not. We already have the report button in case people abuse their ability to speak, no one really cares too much about words on the internet, and we have a community that can't be controlled all too well. The chat filter is useless, and ROBLOX needs to just remove it entirely. Besides, ROBLOX has better things to worry about than some triggered parent who didn't like that their son saw some bad words on the internet.

Looks they added the word "$upp0rt" to the list of things they want to filter.

@Gibz *ROBLOX and a bunch of other businessmen sit at a table* ROBLOX: "What should we add to our game next? People LOVED it when we removed 2 hairs." Businessman 1: "We should take away Robux!" ROBLOX: "No, that would be too good of an update. We need something that is just right..." Businessman 2: "How about we fix the chat filter?" ROBLOX: "How about this... How about... We take inspiration from North Korea, and remove everyone's freedom of speech?" Businessman 2: "Or we could just fix it... Instead of... You know... Breaking it..." *ROBLOX throws Businessman 2 out the window* ROBLOX: "If anyone else ever suggests ANYTHING that the community needs or wants, I will throw you out this window!" *Other businessmen cringe in fear*

Don't even try to defend the censorship. Don't even try...

@udo If people are revealing their addresses, that's the person's fault for doing so, not ROBLOX's fault for not covering up the address. Generally, it's your fault if someone asks you for your private information, and you tell them it. It's not ROBLOX's fault, and it should never be ROBLOX's fault in any situation, unless they are asking for your info (Which would most likely get them fired).

I agree, Roblox is taking this too far. Even saying buildersclub or numbers gets turned into tags.

If only this actually did something. Too bad no moderators will ever read these. The only thing that would get Roblox to listen is if they suddenly lost a lot of players.

@ ###### 1 - most parents say "stay away from strangers" and there are parental controls they can use. 2 - If they use a disclaimer they can't get sued for having a user leak info. 3 - They wont remove the filter i think it needs to be patched/fixed (It is a kids game.) 4 - People still make account that are over age. Welcome to the internet. 5 - I kind of defend the chat filter but it needs work it was working fine the last 5 year i have been around.

@Udo Like I already said, it doesn't matter that kids are stupid enough to reveal their personal information, it's still their fault for being stupid. Not ROBLOX's. Also, ROBLOX has terms and conditions that it can use to defend itself already. They don't need to have a paranoid chat filter that censors every little odd thing you say to defend themselves against getting sued, because they already have terms and conditions on the site that tell you to never give personal information to anyone. If people are going to sue, they need to be shown the terms and conditions before they go on with what they are about to do. Lastly, ROBLOX would probably still get sued regardless of the precautions they take anyway. Some people would sue ROBLOX over the most silly things you would ever think of, so at one point or another, ROBLOX is going to be in risk of getting sued no matter what.
