ESRB is stupid anyway

The ESRB Is pretty much useless now. They need to restructure their whole thing. I don't know if this would work, but hey it could be tried. EC is like for anyone, E would be like for Most People who are into video games, E10 would be for gamers who want a little edge, T is kinda like a Hard PG-13 to an Light R, with swearing, blood/light gore, violence stuff like that. M would be like a Hard R, focusing on disturbing content, scary images, strong violence and language that stuff and AO is basically only for adults like an NC-17. Basically, the ESRB is messed up. They gave Goat Simulator a M when it should be a Teen rating. Seriously?! That game has some inappropriate stuff in it, but it isn't going overboard. It's silly. Red Dead Revolver shouldn't even be a M game! It should be T also. It's like a 60's western when Redemption was more of an adult game that deserved it's rating. I know I'm babbling but it's ridiculous that a bunch of kids are playing COD and POSTAL 2. The ESRB needs to enforce these ratings more. Maybe make a video to put in game stores telling parents about the Rating System in more detail. It's really getting out of hand how parents are buying kids GTA 5. It's a weird world.

"they gave Goat Simulator # M when it should be # Teen rating" Goat Simulator is rated T for PS3 and PS4. I don't know where you got this from. "it's ridiculous that # bunch of kids are playing COD and POSTAL 2." They're just video games, it's not that big of # deal "The ESRB needs to enforce these ratings more." They try, it's not their fault. The parents, grandparents, etc. buy the games for their kids to play, nothing ESRB can do about that

The only M rated game I played is MGS and a little of CoD. PAC-MAN is real.

Idont know how kids play age restricted games, probably just bad parents

Because their parents allow/don't care what they play. You do have to have a parent buy an M rated game for you (most places) but after that there isn't anything that is stopping kids from playing. It's not like the FBI is gonna smash there door open because they played a game with cursing or blood in it.

most age ratings are ridiculous imo i can understand if the game contains triple-x content but having age restrictions on a war game is unnecessary

i look up Pegi's ratings for games rather than the ESRB most of the time because they tend to be more accurate

"ESRB is stupid anyway" without the ESRB, we'd have the government regulating video games

"without the ESRB, we'd have the government regulating video games" That probably would happen, but Steam doesn't require ratings though

"That probably would happen, but Steam doesn't require ratings though" PC is the only platform you could truly distribute on without trouble and by not having an ESRB rating

"PC is the only platform you could truly distribute on without trouble and by not having an ESRB rating" There's a chance the other platforms wouldn't have ratings as well if the ESRB didn't exist. However, they'd need regulations for advertising and product display on store shelves, which is the problem for consoles since it's not all digital.

I think kid these days learn more about "things that its not good for them" than some kids in a few years ago... so thats why they play restricted games.

@GenericHero You're right. I'm looking into this too much. I don't mind playing with kids anyway on TF2. Oh, when I got a physical copy of Goat Simulator, I saw that was rated M for the PC Release Anyways, I'm not sure if I read it right.

"when I got a physical copy of Goat Simulator, I saw that was rated M for the PC Release" That makes sense, because you need an ESRB rating in order to sell your game in stores. It just isn't rated on Steam's store

Australia has the best rating system at the moment, it's easy to understand and the rating are colo(u)r coded. G (General) is Green PG (Parenal Guidance) is Yellow M (Mature) is Blue MA15+ (Mature Accompanied) is Red R18+ (Restricted) is Black, Unlike ESRB's hard to read ages.

@brad It depends on the place, I had to get my dad to buy Fallout 3 for me at Walmart, but at Gamescape (video game place in my area) they didn't care. I think it's just a CYA type thing.
