politics are always connected to sports somewhere and somehow, even though they shouldn't, and there's nothing that's going to change that. but that being said, it's just plain stupid to judge an athlete or coach based on their political beliefs instead of judging them based on what they do as an athlete or coach. i can name at least three hockey players who i absolutely love who i disagree with to some extent when it comes to politics.
