A second forum by either myself or SirMcHam will be posted (And labeled Part two) If for some reason we have the need of adding more rules, or changing any.
A referee handbook will be written and posted soon as well.
1. Uniforms: Will be a required thing for teams to wear. (WILL BE STRICT SEASON TWO.)
1.1 Home/Away wearing of uniforms: Each team will be required to wear their
respected uniforms when at home ice or away.
1.2 Packages: Any color changing, avatar changing packages that could lead things to
become confusing are disallowed from being worn at all times during any
official HBHL league games.
1.3 Hats: Hats will be let through to a certain extent, obnoxiously large wings, hats or
anything deemed too obnoxious or play interfering by the ref at the game will
be disallowed from being worn at all times during play.
(Ref's discretion as to what hats are or aren't allowed in a game)
2. Sticks: All players actively in play should ALWAYS have sticks equipped to them as to not
cause any troubles, players are to not drop their sticks while actively in the
play, or drop sticks onto the ice from their benches.
3. Faceoffs: If the ball flings out of play off of a member of either team, the faceoff
shall be put in their defensive zone.
3.1 Center ice faceoffs: Players are to line up on their side of the ice fo a center ice
faceoff.
3.2 Other zone faceoffs: When a faceoff is in a team's defensive zone, they
must line up behind the faceoff dot, failure to line
up as such will result in changing wh###akes the draw.
4. Referee section: All calls are at the ref's discretion, any mistakes are on their part
and cannot be undone unless it's clearly an incorrect call. A referee
team favoring will result in a replacement if it's serious enough
to be needed.
4.1 Clock: All starting and stopping of the clock will be controlled by the head referee
at a game when play stops or starts, or at faceoffs. (For example, when the
ball flings out of play, the referee is to stop the clock as fast as they
can, as to preserve as much of the game time as possible.)
4.2 Penalty calling: All penalty calls are at the ref's discretion, and their
interpretation of the rules written out for HBHL, arguing with a
penalty call made will not get it removed whatsoever.
5. General rules:
5.1: In the case of a team taking any penalty/penalties, the referee will let the
coaches know what happened and which player will be going to the box to serve the
penalty. The player then must sit for the full minute of the penalty, UNLESS the
opposing team scores on the powerplay, in which case the player will be let out no
matter how long they were in the box already.
5.2: Multiple players can be put into the box at any time if penalties are committed by
multiple on one team, or both. But no more players are taken off ice if there's
only one skater and the goalie left, in the case a player takes a penalty in that
situation, the player will be put in the box, but a player will be let on from the
bench.
5.3: No players that were given a penalty can be let out of the box to return to the ice
or play until a stoppage of play happens, only if there are more players in the box
than are allowed on the ice during play. In a situation where there are no longer
enough players to give a penalty to, an extra minute will be added onto one of the
player's time already in the box.
5.4: HBHL is a 4 on 4 hockey league, that includes the goalie if wanted. With that being
said, a too many men penalty is given by the referee if a team has four skaters and
a goalie on the ice. And if a too many men penalty is given, it is coaches choice
who is sent to the box from their team, if no coaches are present for a team the
referee will handle it as best he/she can. (ADDITION ) -> If tw##players are caught using the goaltender stick on ice at the same time, it is considered a TMM Penalty.
5.5: If the ball is kicked into the net by a player, it is considered a good goal. If
the ball noclips the side, back or top of the net it is not a goal. If the ball
noclips a player or players and goes into the net it is considered a good goal.
5.6 If you complain to the referee about a goal call, or any call made, a delay of game
penalty can be given to you if you don't stop when warned by the referee to do so.
5.7: In overtime it is still a 4 on 4 including goalie, overtime only happens if the two
teams are tied after regulation. If they go through overtime scoreless it will go
into a three man shootout then a sudden death shootout.
5.8: A team has to have at least two players 10 minutes after the start time of the game
in order not to forfeit. If one of the two leaves during the game it is an
automatic forfeit.
5.9 Unsportsmanlike(Sort of an addition to 5.6):
A player constantly arguing with the referee after being warned to stop, and being
obnoxious or rude to the referee can be awarded an Unsportsmanlike penalty.
This penalty is a two minute major which a player must serve the full two minutes
unless the opposing team is to score.
6###oaltender interference is called in the case of a goalie being blatantly shoved from
their crease in order to assist in the scoring of a goal. In the case of this event taking place, and it is called (Discretion of the ref as to if it’s bad enough.) the goal WILL be disallowed, and the faceoff will take place in the neutral zone.
