As you may well remember, 3 years ago the first emperor of The Star Imperium and seventh High King of Stratus, Lucius Gaius Aquavius departed on a campaign to take over the orbiting planet of Anturia. This lead to the formation of The Anturian Armada.
While this campaign would ultimately be a success, it caused a power vacuum as the emperor's son, Lucian Aquavius, was crowned emperor, triggering the second era of Stratus, 'the dark ages'.
Whilst the majority of the Stratarian population accepted and welcomed the transition of power, the new emperor was widely criticized for not defending the interests of Stratus whilst in power and for completely disbanded the armed forces. This led the Supreme Admiral, who was still highly respected, to declare marshal law until First Emperor Lucius came back from his campaign.
During this time, an insurgency rose up to seize power from the crown until the rightful emperor returned. Whilst they were never successful in doing so, they did have a significant influence over previous members of the Stratarian High Command.
In the last few weeks Emperor Lucius has returned and crushed the insurgency by absorbing high ranking officials back into The Star Imperium. Now with Stratus reunited, and Anturia completely conquered, The Star Imperium is able to operate under a single banner again.
As for the future; it looks like there's going to be a lot of rebuilding to get is back to our peak.
