An open letter to ROBLOX.

Dear ROBLOX, ROBLOX admins, and others: I've truly held myself neutral throughout the updates you've made that have been quite controversial with MANY, MANY people. But now I'm breaking out of it. I don't understand why we're limiting the ability to express creativity and who we really want to be. YES, this is a private organization you own. YES, this is something you brought to the table and agreed to. YES, this seems to you to be something quite minor. YES, this is the time where ROBLOX is modernizing. But theres a point. A very BOLD, ITALICIZED, UNDERLINED point where you have to stop and really think. People really use those little colors. They seem so irrelevant, with those 60 or so colors. Ranging from red to purple, magenta to cyan. They seem so little. They seem so small. But me, the forum community, and MANY avid ROBLOX enthusiests that may be wierdos aren't going to be like the elder council in The Giver and make everything into "Sameness". Lack of creativity. Removing the ability to have many colors is not actually minor. Supressing the ability to be who you want to be not only limits our creativity, but our expression. Some people are unconfortable revealing their ethnicity in real life and have many colors to try to not make people assume and make fun of them. Some people support the LGBT#####munity and wear many of these colors to show support. Some people show solidarity with countries and places that have been ravaged by disaster and attack by wearing their colors. Colors are a beautiful thing. YES, this is a kids website and you admins think that we think the same way you do: colors are irrelevant. But reality hits you: Colors are beautiful to us. They express who ###are. They show who ###are. They mean a lot to us, actually. Imagine taking color away from this website, it all being black and white. Imagine taking the small qualities of things from clothing to blocks in ROBLOX Studio away. Imagine what it would like. It's not the same nor is the right thing. ROBLOX, this isn't a little update. It's a crucial life lesson. No matter how small something is, no matter how irrelevant it is, no matter how weird, stupid, crazy, annoying, WHATEVER this thing is, there is at least ONE person. ONE PERSON. Who believes that small thing is a beautiful thing. I really hope you consider what the community has to say. ROBLOX is about creativity. Expression. Allowing people to understand game design, scripting, technology, advertising, teamwork, making money from digital work, etc. Taking these small things makes a domino effect that no one, not even you, want to see.

Do you really think they care? In their eyes, changing something that has been well-established over the past ten years is "innovation". They don't care if it gets the community up-in-arms and removes a critical aspect to the inherent "creativity" of the game. Anymore, nothing matters to them.
