Alaska Highway Safety Office (ASPD) coordinates highway safety programming focused on public outreach and education, enforcement, promotion of new safety technology, integration of public health strategies, collaboration with safety and private sector organizations and cooperation with state and local governments. ASPD administers federal funding to appropriate projects through a grant awarding process.
AST Warrants
Alaska State Troopers request public’s assistance in providing information on individuals listed below. If you have information on the reabouts of individual listed, please contact the rest law enforcement agency.
This list contains active warrants issued by the Alaska State Court System in relation to AST cases. The Alaska State Troopers request that no citizen take action in these matters beyond contacting their local law enforcement agency. DO NOT TAKE THE ### INTO YOUR OWN HANDS BY ATTEMPTING TO APPREHEND OR DETAIN THESE INDIVIDUALS. All warrants must be confirmed in the ###ska Public Safety Information Network before arrests are made.
Are you a wanted person?
You may report in person to any local law enforcement agency to turn yourself in on warrant. Law Enforcement Officers then will escort you to Department of Corrections where you will be able to meet warrant, such as posting bail. If you cannot post bail, you will be taken before a judge within 24 hours for your first hearing on the rant.
You should bring photo identification with you when you come in.
If you fail to go to the court or to a Law Enforcement Agency to turn yourself in, arrests will be made by Law Enforcement Officers whenever and wherever you are found.

he Department of Public Safety Academy, located in Sitka, Alaska is one of the ###ion's finest training facilities.
The Academy boasts a limited number of 3 person dorm rooms, each with adjoining bathrooms and many other 4 person traditional style dorm rooms. There is also a student lounge for the enjoyment of students at the Academy, a state of the art gym featuring aerobic and weight lifting equipment, and a multi-purpose room for training drills and simulation events.
The Academy also utilizes a state of the art driving simulator as well as two use of force simulators to enhance the recruits' training. Two firearms ranges are available for use as well. The newest range is the Troyncge which is located seven miles from the academy and consists of a classroom, storage area, lights, and a covered, heated shooting area.
Successful instruction is primary focus for recruits at Academy. Instruction comes from commissioned Alaska State Troopers stationed in Sitka, and from other commissioned officers and civilian instructors from across Alaska and across the nation. Time is dedicated to thorough training in subjects such as: criminal justice, investigations, traffic violations, communications, defensive tactics, and use of firearms.
Alaska Law Enforcement Training Program offers specialized classes and practical training for a variety of law enforcement careers. Classes are offered by Department of Public Safety.
