"LVPD High Command Rank Name Change"
Section One; Action.
(a) If this bill is passed, the rank name "Sheriff" in the Las Vegas Police Department will be changed to "Chief".
(b) If this bill is passed, the rank name "Undersheriff" in the Las Vegas Police Department will be changed to "Deputy Chief".
(c) If this bill is passed, the rank name "Assistant Sheriff" in the Las Vegas Police Department will be changed to Assistant Chief.
(d) If this bill is passed, the rank name "Deputy Chief" in the Las Vegas Police Department (the current rank that is there) will be renamed to whatever the Chief/Sheriff wishes it to be named to, as long as it is not Deputy Chief.
Section Two; Reasoning.
(a) In real life, the organizational structure of the Las Vegas Police Department (or in real life, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department), is a joint policing force for both Las Vegas and Clark County, Nevada. In their structure, there is an ELECTED Sheriff of Clark County which leads the LVMPD. In our virtual world, there is not elections for LVPD Sheriff/Chief.
(b) Per reasoning in sub-section (a) in the reasoning section, a Sheriff is defined as an elected county official responsible for keeping the peace. LVPD is not responsible for protecting a county in our world, they are responsible for directing the department that keeps the peace in a city.
Section Three; Conclusion.
This bill is a simple edit because of how obvious it is that it should be changed.
