E1-E2 Pass Basic Branch Training (BMT).
E2-E3 Find a job or position in a fleet, Command, Division, or Unit.
E3-E4 Contact Ship, Squad, or Unit CO for E4 advancement.
E4-E5 must be an E4 for at lease 4 days and requirements stated before.
E5-E6 Request to the Unit CO only to be advanced.
E6-E7 Unit CO nominates you for Chief Select Training, Must be E6 for at lease 4 days.
E7-E8 Meritoriously advanced by Commanding Officer.
E8-E9 Advanced by Fleet, Command or Force Commanding Officer.
O1 Complete OCS.
O1-O2 Find a job or position in a fleet, Command, Division, or Unit.
O2-O3 Must me O2 for at lease 5 days.
O3-O4 Must be nominated by Unit CO.
O4-O5 Must have a be nominated and awaiting a position of XO or CO.
O5-O6 Must be awaiting a position for CO.
O6-O7 A nomination from the CNO or VCNO.
O7-O8 Must have a position of Command,Fleet or Force XO or CO awaiting.
O8-O9 Must be nominated be the CNO or VCNO.
O9-O10 The absolute backing of command staff.
If an emergency rank jump is needed the Chief of Naval Operations, Vice Chief of Naval Operations, and Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy must all agree to the rank jump.
E6+ may be allowed to participate in an OCS.
OCS is held when the Navy is in need of Officers, the Navy will announce all OCS testing 1 to 2 days in advance. (Currently not looking for Officers).
