For my first car, I want something cheap but something that can handle offroading well because I plan to go camping and offroading ALOT when I first get it. I'm thinking like a 1995 jeep wrangler or a 1997 jeep cherokee XJ. Should I get one of these two or something else?

Jeeps can usually be found cheap. I'm no car expert though. Search around and research different types of cars. Jeeps are usually go-to for off-roading so I've heard.

I live in southern california, and I plan to take it to the desert and beach ALOT. I also want to take it to northern california for the rainforest and take it through snow with friends. I plan on having about 4 friends with me, and the 1995-1999 jeep wrangler look very nice to me.

I live in NorCal myself but like I said, don't know much about cars and off-roading capabilities if you have any friends who off-road I suggest you ask them, and perhaps research some yourself

Older Jeeps are garbage, honestly. If it's your first vehicle, then sure. Toyota's tend to be decent for offroading. Subaru's also are really good for most terrain, guess it depends what tires you put on it.
