I've been considering this option for some time, so I've talked to quite a few people who may have an interesting perspective. This thread is a collection of their thoughts as well as my own. Personally, I believe that if somebody has just joined Roblox and they join a war group, they'll expect guns and be more familiar with them; it's the larger community for a reason. This may seem strange coming from the leader of a sword clan, but guns, to me, are a much more functional concept than swords, as they're harder to learn because there are more concepts you must apply to become proficient, latency doesn't affect them as much (and isn't so bad that it's become central to how they work), and plenty of other arguments as to why they're better.
Essentially,
1. They're more appealing
2. It's a larger community, and
3. The concept of guns is better than swords
The biggest problem that sword clans have when they try to change their weapon type from swords to guns is their members, who joined the group specifically because they prefer swords, start to leave in favor of other sword clans. NFC, on the other hand, will not have this problem with its active members because, well, it has no active members. There simply is nobody to want to leave and diminish activity. This doesn't mean, however, that this problem likely won't manifest in another form; I get that many of NFC's veterans would be unhappy with this choice and feel that the decision would defy its roots as a clan, something a great deal deeper than what could increase activity the most. While I understand this, I also understand that as a leader I want to see what's best for NFC, and what's best for NFC isn't always necessarily how the majority of people see it.
In conclusion, this is a decision that has to be made now, because once NFC finishes all of its development projects and becomes active, changing will too much of a sacrifice. If NFC is going to change, now is the time to decide upon it. Me and the council are leaning toward switching to guns, and we're aware that it will anger many people, but it's better to be heard directly from everybody.
Some things to note, NFC is never going to exclude itself from the sword community, and will continue to raid sword clans and war them from time to time. Depending on your point of view, you can think of this as an announcement or a eulogy, but whatever the case your input is valuable.

but time and time again I am constantly argued with on grounds that swords are still better than guns despite how little swords can actually do for themselves |

When I joined NFC under Fire's era and learned how to sword fight I felt like I was gonna destroy everybody I came across but when we raided war clans I was never good and I'm still not good with guns at all. But with this possible transition from swords to guns and swords I feel like I'll finally get better with guns. I look forward to seeing what happens under WoopiWoopi's era and hope to continue learning and improving my skills. HAIL NFC!!!!!! |

While those reasons do tie in with myself, they're more about making NFC grow. By more appealing, I meant appealing to somebody who just joined Roblox, not myself. It's a larger community means there are more people for NFC to attract instead of the few sword people. With NFC's newfound access to developers, I'll admit that it's potentially missing an opportunity to grow the sword community, but for a few reasons I don't believe that would work out. For 3, it ties into 1 a bit. It's all about how I believe this will grow NFC, not how much I'll enjoy it.
Plenty of people will be unhappy with this choice, a few of whom I value the opinion of very dearly, but after this it won't be shared feelings. If I were thinking of myself, I wouldn't be willing to sacrifice such things.

As of now, I am no longer supporting WoopiWoopi as chancellor. You lost my endorsement. Don't expect any help or advice. You're destroying the clan i once knew into something it isn't. It is not a gun clan. It is a hybrid clan at best.
Just because gun clans are mainstream does not mean you should move the clan to guns.
There's a ton of room to develop the fantasy and sword genre. You just don't want to put in the work and want a quick fix.
Problems with guns and NFC.
1. NFC has never fully used guns. Plus, most of the clan is bad with guns. The clan does not mix with guns.
2. Guns are losing room to innovate. Swords still not have been innovated (there's room if you really look).
3. You are going into the mainstream and becoming a follower rather than a pioneer.
There's a ton of negatives doing this. I'm sad to say this is the end of NFC.

That's unfortunate, tricks. Thankfully NFC's most valuable assets aren't people to look to for advice. I expected similar reactions, but do you at least care to explain why you reacted so strongly to this, especially when it's only an idea so far, and I've said a few times there's a chance I don't make a gun fort?

im gonna help ya here
this is how to keep rescinded on your side
1. call it a hybrid clan
2. always include guns with the swords
"see it's a good deal! you get to keep your swords!"
and then no one uses the swords anyways so it's a win win
if the stubborn members wanna play with baby toys they're free to do so |

Of course it'll be called a hybrid clan just to gain some favor from both communities, but in the back of our minds everybody will know that if NFC has a gun fort and we have gun trainings and we raid gun clans, even if swords are among any of those 3 things, then NFC is a gun clan. It's nicer to be a "hybrid" clan but in my eyes as long as there's a distinct specialty, usually the weapon type at the fort, the clan takes the specialty of that weapon type.
Before this, NFC was a sword clan but indulged itself in both communities. By resc's standards, NFC is still a hybrid clan. The difference is NFC already interacted with the gun community more than the sword community, despite having a sword fort, which is why the term hybrid clan to describe NFC stuck around for so long.

Keep sword throw guns in the mix, make the fort a balance between mid/long range open areas to closed cqc corridors and hallways.
